Microsoft has been working on new hand free interfaces for years (multi-touch Surface for instance), I'm sure they have a vision of new user interfaces that could be controlled by full body motion.
Nobody can tell if this will be the death of the mouse and keyboard (I doubt so), but in the end it depends on how the early users (and developers) will adopt the new technology.

I am amazed at how you have taken a tidbit of a rumor from CNET, and without even citing the Bill Gates interview . Gates insinuated that Natal-like capabilities are on the drawing board for Windows. Your line about "Microsoft intends to launch..." makes it sound as if some sort of announcement has been made. This is misleading journalism at best. Please, all of you people who have to rewrite tidbits of stories for miscellaneous news sites: Start Reporting The Truth!
