MarquisPad MP977 tablet is just $249, with dual-core and Android 4.0

Le Pan has changed their name to Matsunichi and to celebrate they have introduced the MarquisPad MP977. This tablet features a 9.7-inch, 1024 x 768 display, with a faster dual-core, 1.2GHz TI chip.

The tablet ships with Android 4.0 and comes in a new sleeker design compared to their previous offerings. However storage is being cut in half over their previous Le Pan II to just 4GB between the internal memory and a bundled microSD card.

The battery will last for five hours. The price is $249 and it is scheduled for a May release. That should put the MP977 in the right place to compete with the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0. It will be interesting to see how this one does.
