According to a “trusted source” from Neowin.net, the image above is a mockup of an upcoming business tablet from HP called the Slate 8. That would be a Windows 8 tablet focused on business use.
If this info is correct, it will have a 10.1-inch display, eight to ten hours of battery life, an optional pen-based input, a docking station, an outdoor viewing option and of course several business-friendly security measures.
The tablet is said to be just 9.2mm thick and weigh about 1.5 pounds. We are more inclined to believe this one since ZDNet’s Mary Jo Foley did some investigation and says that she is “inclined to believe this is a real mock-up and is part of HP’s line up of business desktops and laptops it will be touting this year.” When we know more, we will let you know.
