Freecom Hard Drive Secure
Freecom has launched a new portable hard drive which is aimed at business users who want to keep their data nice and safe, the Freecom Hard Drive Secure.
The Freecom Hard Drive Secure features an interesting security feature, users can lock and unlock the drive by swiping an AES-encrypted RFID key card in front of the drive.

The Freecom Hard Drive Secure comes with 2TB of storage, and two key cards, just in case you should lose one, here are the specifications.
- Secure storage solution for professional and home use
- Includes 2 seciurity keycards (1 user keycard, 1 master keycard) in credit card format which will lock and unlock the drive for use.
- Controlled access using RFID technology (Radio Frequency Identifi cation) for data security. The 2 included RFID keycards are AES encrypted.
- USB 2.0 interface – connects to any modern computer
- Reliable and fast data transfer
- High quality aluminium enclosure with optimal internal airflow management
- No cooling fan – no noise!
- Compact design, only15.5 x14.8 x 4.3 cm, saves space on your desk
The Freecom Hard Drive Secure will be available shortly for 349 Euros about $496 from Freecom.
