Mortal Kombat isn’t a franchise that counts generosity and good will towards men among its core values, but that may be about to change. Meet the kinder, gentler Mortal Kombat that lets you play even without a “Kombat Pass” for the duration of the PlayStation Store outage. Just a little clarification, yes, the multiplayer on PS3 is always free, ut Mortal Kombat usually requires a code called a “Kombat Pass” to be input in order to play.
Naturally, second hand copies lack the code in question and it’s the owners of those particular copies that will find the most reason to rejoice. The toll booth goes up again with the restoration of the PlayStation Store, but at least we’ll all have the Sony Welcome Back free games to look forward to. Unless you’ve already played them all, in which case maybe there’s something good on TV?
