FLEx Lighting LED Film, Brings Light To E Ink Devices (video)

One of the main problems regards ebook readers that use E Ink technology for their displays. Is the need for an external light of some sort to read in low light conditions. In the past this has been provided by incorporating lights in to case and external attachments. But now FLEx Lighting have developed an LED film that will allow you to read in the dark.

The new LED film has been designed to bring smooth, nighttime reading to E Ink displays, and consists of a single LED and a thin layer of film, laminated onto a device’s reflective screen. The LED Film can easily be turned on and off when required and doesn’t affect the clarity of the text or hamper touchscreens.
