Microsoft’s PR and marketing machine is in full swing. Microsoft is planning an elaborate launch for the Xbox One as a total of 10,000 retail locations across 13 countries will be open at midnight on November 22 to sell as many Xbox Ones as they possibly can.
Some of those launch locations will have their events streamed on both Xbox Live and Spike TV, with New York City even having street entertainment and giving out free tickets to music performances. It sounds like a giant party can be found anywhere where there is an Xbox. However, one of the more interesting launch events will be in none other than New Zealand, where the very first Xbox One is expected to be sold.
And so Microsoft has decided to guard the first Xbox One in an unusual way. Using sand tiger sharks. That’s right, it’s currently submerged in an aquarium, where it can be safe until it is removed and presented to the first customer in line during the midnight launch event. It should be safe with sharks guarding it. I bet the shark just wishes it had hands and a large TV to play the console on.
