ESPN Radio app gets updated

Here’s some good news for sports fans. ESPN has refreshed its Radio app. Now it is optimized for your favorite tablet, the iPad as well as the iPhone and iPod touch. If you are not familiar with the app, it allows you to sort your listening habits by sports, teams and athletes that you follow, making it easier to get the info you want.

The free version gives you access to podcasts, the 20-minute SportCenter cycle, and offline listening for on-demand content as well. Right now the premium version of the app is free as well and that will give you custom stations, playlists, live audio pause/rewind, myESPN personalization, alerts and push notifications and more.

After a “limited time,” though, you’ll have to pay $4.99 for the premium app if you want the 35 ESPN radio stations. Apps for Android and WP7 devices will arrive later this summer for the rest of us.
