E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial Blu-ray release date is October 9th

Right up there with movies like Star Wars and Raiders of the Lost Ark, E.T. was a classic that many of us geeks remember fondly. And now, Universal has finally revealed a release date for Steven Spielberg’s classic movie about an alien and a boy.
E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial on Blu-ray, will hit shelves on October 9th. This Anniversary Edition Combo pack will include Ultraviolet, a DVD and Digital Copy of the movie, as well as a bunch of extras. Those extras include a new interview with Spielberg, behind the scenes journals, and deleted scenes from the 2002 re-release of the film.
They don’t mention the Spaceship Limited Edition copy that Blu-ray.com notes recently popped up on Amazon, which stinks, because it is awesome, even at $139.98. However, this basic and more conventional version is available for pre-order on Amazon for $23.99.
