Support the back in custom fashion, man.

1. Have the cord come out the side instead of the back of the unit.
2. Don't glue any of your discs together, but stack them on the desk and position another, cooler disc behind it, standing on it's edge - a production CD of say, SoundGarden's SuperUnknown album (because it's printed to look like a vinyl record - which instantly raises you to SuperGeek status).
should look (something) like this head on:

( _ ) - soundgarden cd
== - stacked discs

3. Mark (lightly) the top of the stacked discs along the face of the soundgarden cd.
4. Measure the length of that line. Ask me why, go ahead.
5. Wait for it...
6. On the stacked discs, mark that same line length along the center, just behind your connector.
7. You see where I'm going, don't you?
8. Dremel that line down (which gets shorter each time) through the stacked discs, and then do all of your gluing - of course adding the last step of gluing your SoundGarden cd vertical into that slot.
9. I did tell you to rip that disc first, didn't I?

Cool idea.

Let me take it a step further…. You know that little white base your iPod came with (and you probably threw away immediately)? Well, dig out a well for it; glue it in, and presto! You've got a nice well for your iPod/iPhone to sit in.

You’re welcome.

This is OK, but it doesn't offer any support for the actual iPhone. One good smack might produce enough leverage to break the case or pop it open. I'd feel better if they added another 5 cds and routed out a hole for the bottom of the phone to fit into.
