Awesome Gadgets

Wow, it’s amazing how people (SupaW) can be so critical of other peoples work when they have no talent of their own…or spelling ability (’real’ is spelled with just one “L”)
Cool machine! The diamond plate is a beautiful touch too!!

This guy is pretty amazing. Innovative and fresh! This obviously took a lot of work to complete an the video looks amazing itself. @ SupaW: looks like you have a bit of jealousy there.

Well, I don’t like the looks of this machine aswell, I think it’s ugly. Nevertheless, I do admire the amount of work he has put into it and seeing it all work.
I guess this guy’s objective wasn’t making the most beautiful case, but to build a practical mobile machine (in which he has succeeded).
Well done!

That is pretty damn amazing- I agree with Zoop, it isn’t the most aesthetic pleasing, but I can appreciate the work that has been put into it.

I had an idea for somthing like this a couple of years ago but being my usual procrastinatory self I never got around to doing anything about it. Kudos to stealth, my concept only had one monitor.

I think this is amazing craftsmanship. What really takes away from this build is the diamond plating. This build is much too great for a material that people associate with toolboxes and truck beds. If it were just steel with powder coated or painted, it would make all the difference.

I’m impressed! Think about it…directly from vision to completed project. These are the talents that are used to create prototypes for the products we take for granted today. With the proper configuration of hardware this creation could be used for a wide variety of commercial applications where extreme ruggedness is vital. I applaud your creativity, effort, and persistence. Even the video was great!

How much does it weigh though? Is it waterproof?

SupaW MIGHT grow learn to appreciate true craftsmanship when he gets out of the reformatory, but I doubt it. He’ll probably be getting raped in prison soon after his 18th birthday. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and to my eye this is a work of art. Plus, the video is almost as impressive as the rig.

Phenomenal job! The diamond plated steel looks great, I wouldn’t replace it with anything. Looks rugged, high tech and sexy all at the same time. I would take this everywhere with me. I also like how the entire case lifts to reveal the compartment for keyboard and mouse. Keep up the GREAT work!

It looks like a microwave to me…

Overall choice of materials aside, I think this is a great idea! Sure laptop’s are becoming more powerful, but your still very limited on upgrades etc. This answers that and many other issues as well, with a machine that’s (kinda) portable, but still gives you multiple displays, and virtually unlimited upgrade potential.
A great idea, and I’d like to see something like this actually hit the market, sure netbooks have a place as well, but I think this could fill a niche very nicely.
On a personal note, I like the diamond plating, I’d have gone brushed aluminum or anodized aluminum myself but due to the cost, I’m sure there were some limiting factors. Plus shiny does catch the eye! Also for those with nothing better to do, I’m sure my spelling has errors as well, feel free to pick them apart, I could care less.

Sorry folks but who on earth in their right mind wants to have “new” technology thrown together to look like a “Cinemagraph which was created by the Lumiere Brothers in the 1890’s”??
To me its like taking all the best bits from the latest cars and welding them together, then attaching it all to a horse for it to pull thru the fuckin streets!
Thats my opinion though, for what its worth.
