Cool Concepts – The Tactile MP3 Player
Posted 29 Jan. 2008 8:44 AM in Concepts by Roland Hutchinson
Check out this cool concept MP3 Player, the Tactile MP3 from designer Bomi Kim.

It features raised Braille type tactile controls to navigate your way through your favourite tunes.

It’s nice to see such a simple and stylish design, which does the job its designed for without being over complicated.

the ipod shuffle is also simple, stylish and does the job it is designed to do without being over complicated…

ipod shuffle is shit. ipods are for trendy cultist morons. In fact onlt technologically impaired idiots would buy apple at all.

wow we have an apple hater here…. that statement is biased and untrue!

Biased, yes, untrue, *maybe*.
I’m no fan of apple, but you have to admit (unless you are an ‘apple fanatic’ and are thus ‘biased’ as well) that apple really isn’t ‘all that shit. Speaking from experience, where i live, apple is usually more expensive, no better than generic brands and often more trouble. In that i can hook up my generic MP3 player to pretty much anything, whereas apple products often need specific things, programs, equipment, docking stations and so forth.
iPod has become such a status symbol because people think that its so good that if you have anything else, its inherently subpar compared to apple, its an elitist attitude that is self perpetuating.
Just like i will admit that the Apple computers are good (while i prefer my PC) i will admit that iPods are also good, though i don’t need a more expensive, iconic product just do to the same thing that something else can just as well. I don’t need to pay for the image.

I’d be afraid that I would eat it.. it reminds me of many mints that are on the market. Still, really cool.

While we’re talking about our great concept ideas, I have one. How about an mp3 player that transmits directly to your brain? website hits please?
thumbs down.

Hi JD
Nice idea, are you a designer, like the one who created this concept ?
These young designers creating concepts today, will be the ones designing products that we will be using tomorrow.

Yes, I have a masters in electrical engineer. It takes a lot more than a quick photoshop to make these things happen – put some effort into miniaturization, rather than finding yourself clever for thinking “hey they should make this smaller”. There is nothing to learn from this post, and the idea is hardly revolutionary. Begging for google ad impressions, nothing more.

oops, hit the ‘ovr’ key. engineerING

I don’t mind ads at all – they help pay for bandwidth and that isn’t free. What I’m pointing out is that this page offers nothing useful. I’m done.

Nice. However, why use the 1/8″ stereo jack when there are smaller alternatives.

Forget my post. The more I think about it you have no choice. Who doesn’t still use that style. I mean people would then have to buy a special pair of head-phones to accommodate this mp3 player. Maybe Blue-tooth?
