Cloudbook CE1200V – Unboxing – Pics
The guys over at Laptop have go their hands on one of the very first Cloudbook CE1200V notebooks.

From the looks of it they cant seem to get it past the boot up screen, here’s what they had to say about it.

Our CloudBook just arrived and we’ve taken it out of the box and snapped a few photos. Editor-in-Chief Mark Spoonauer is working on a hands-on post right now, and already we’ve encountered two significant problems:
* The pointing device: The touchpad is a tiny stretch of plastic in the most awkward place you can possibly imagine, on the right above the keyboard. The left and right mouse buttons are on the left side above the keyboard, forcing you to use two hands to navigate and click.
* The initial setup: We selected our language without a problem but we can’t get past the screen where you select a city, because there’s no OK button when you go to select your timezone. If you close or minimize the timezone selection window, you get a blank desktop with no icons and no way to do anything. Not a good start.

From the looks of it, I guess Asus and their Eee shouldn’t be too concerned, I guess it depends how well it works if they manage to get it working.

Hold down ALT and then click-drag the window up to reveal the OK button which I suspect is currently below the bottom of the screen.

Yeah, the same thing happened to me when I installed ubuntu which I currently use. I suspect it has something to do with resolution, because once I managed to Tab+enter my way through the installation, and installed new video drivers, it works just fine.
