Earlier this year, we heard that China might be thinking about lifting its 12-year game console ban. It turns out that it is true. The country has just lifted this 13-year ban which means that gaming machines will be made available throughout the country.
However, the Ministry of Culture will still need to approve each console, and we don’t know exactly how this will work. It is still a victory for those in the country. An announcement was made by China’s State Council saying that companies will soon be able to begin selling game consoles.
We aren’t sure what the criteria is for them to allow certain consoles.
