Vodafone has just launched two new phones which it claims are the most affordable ultra low-cost handsets to date. The Vodafone 15o retails for $15 and the new 250 retails for $20.

The phones are designed for the developing markets of third world countries, to make them available to large isolated and rural populations.

Aperture 3.0 Crashing Hard Drives Worldwide

The recently released professional photo software Aperture 3.0  by Apple has been causing entire Mac hard drives to lock.  The apparent memory leak bug in Aperture 3.0 is allowing the software to create enormous page files which take up all available storage space on the Macs make them fail.

a large number of disgruntled Aperture 3.0 users are complaining on the Apple discussion forums about the problems.  “It’s the worst Apple upgrade I’ve ever had, Aperture 3 is now unusable to me.” Discoteca claims.

HTC Desire Google Android Smartphone

We have already seen the new HTC Legend and HTC HD Mini, now we have another new snartphone from HTC for today, the HTC Desire.

The HTC Desire shares almost identical specifications to the HTC made Google Nexus One. It features the same 3.7 inch WVGA AMOLED touchscreen display, has the same 1GHz Qualcomm snapdragon processor, a microSD card slot, GPS, A-GPS, and it runs Google Android 2.1.

HTC HD Mini Windows Mobile Smartphone

As well as launching the new HTC Legend at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, HTC has added another new smartphone to their range with the launch of the HTC HD Mini.

The HTC HD Mini features a 3.2 inch HVGA touchscreen, and it runs Windows Mobile 6.5.3 with HTC’s Sense user interface, and it is powered by a Qulacomm 600MHz processor.

HTC Legend Google Android Smartphone Gets Official

HTC have taken the wraps off their latest Google Android smartphone, which we have been hearing rumors about for some time, the HTC Legend.

The HTC Legend comes with the latest version of Google Android, 2.1 and it features a 3.2 inch HVGA AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display, and comes with a five megapixel camera with a built in led flash.

Commodore VIC-20 Used For Twitter

Anyone remember the Commodore Vic-20? The Commodore VIC-20 was an 8-bit home computer that was available back in 1980, it ran software from a cassette tape and had 5KB of RAM and a 1MHz processor.

The guys over at the Personal Computer Museum have programmed it so it can be used to tweet on Twitter, using some software called TweeVER, which stands for Tweeting from a Vintage Computer.

Apple Bans iPhone Hackers ID From iTunes

Apple [AAPL] has banned  a couple of hackers from their iPhone application store and iTunes.  An iPhone developer and hacker, Sherif Hashim, recently found out that his Apple ID had been banned from iTune and the App store.

Sherif Hasim recently found an exploit in Apple’s latest iPhone OS 3.1.2, which could enable it to be unlocked on 05.12.01 baseband for the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS, and his devices have been banned with a message from Apple when he tries to log into the application store as you can see in the photo below.

Microsoft Announces Windows Phone 7

Microsoft [MSFT] has launched the latest version of their mobile phone operating system, although the name has now changed from Windows Mobile to Windows Phone 7.

Microsoft also announced that hardware manufacturers are working on a range of new mobile phones for Windows Phone 7, and we will see the first devices with the new operating system in the stores by the holiday 2010 shopping season.
