Dell has released a new version of its Studio 17 laptop, the new model now features a 1,600 x 800 17.3 inch LCD with full multitouch capabilities.

Other specifications include a range of Intel processors, which include Intel Core i7 processors, the option to have up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM and up to 1TB of storage.

On top of that there is Intel GMA 4500HD graphics, a 6 cell battery, built in 802.11b/g/n WiFI, HMDI, FireWire, VGA, eSATA, and a couple of USB 2.0 ports.

The Dell Studio 17 Multitouch Notebook comes with Windows 7, and price start at $899.

Asus has launched its fir notebook to feature NVIDIA’s GeForce 3D Vision, which uses a pair of special glasses and a 120Hz LCD to add 3D to games which support the feature.

The Asus G51J 3D Notebook is powered by an Intel Core i7 processor, 2GB of DDR3 RAM, with the option to increase this to 4GB, a 15.6 inch LED backlit display with a resolution of 1,366 x 768, plus NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M 1GB DDR3 graphics.

A pair of 3D Vision™ active-shutter glasses coupled with a wide-range infra-red emitter delivers stereoscopic images with clarity, brightness and depth-of-field (DOP) at full resolution without viewing angle restrictions. The GPU driver and a 120Hz 3D panel renders each scene twice, delivering up to 60 images evenly to each eye, amounting to a total of up to 120 images. Gamers can experience total immersion into their games from what were previously flat 2D worlds, to true-to-life 3D.

The Asus G51J 3D Notebook comes with Windows 7 and it will go on sale shortly for around $1,700.

Dell Adamo XPS Now Available

The Dell Adamo, which was officially announced by Dell earlier this month has finally gone one sale, and it is now available from Dell, with prices starting at $1,799.

The Dell Adamo XPS is an ultra thin laptop, measuring just 9.9mm thick, making it considerably thinner than the 16.4mm of the previous Adamo, and it weighs just 1.44kg and measured 340 x 273.9mm.

The Dell Adamo XPS features a 13.4 inch HD display with a resolution of 1,366 x 728, battery life comes in at just 2.5 hours on the standard battery, and 5 hours on the extended battery, it also has two USB 2.0 ports, a headphone jack and a mini display port.

Asus has added a new model to their ultra portable notebook range, the Asus UL30Vt Notebook.

The Asus UL30Vt Notebook is an updated version of the UL30, and it features a a choice of processors which include an Intel Celeron 1.2GHz processor, or and Intel Core 2 Duo 1.4GHz processor.

Memory comes in the form of 2GB of DDR3 RAM as standard with the option to upgrade to 4GB, and it features a 13.3 inch LCD display with a resolution of 1366 x 768.

Graphics is provided by an Intel GMA X4500MHD graphics chip or and NVIDIA GeForce G210M 512MB graphics card, and storage comes in a choice of either 250GB, 320GB or 500GB.

The Asus UL30Vt Notebook also features a 0.3 megapixel web camera, a 4 in one card reader, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, and the choice of a 4 cell or 8 cell battery.

The Asus UL30Vt Notebook comes with Windows 7, there is no word on the exact pricing or release date as yet.

The iBuyPower Battalion 101 comes with a choice of Intel Core i7 processor, from the 1.6GHz 720QM, the 1.73GHz 820QM and the 2.0GHz 920XM, memory comes in the form of 2GB of DDR3 RAM as standard with the option to increase this to 8GB.

Graphics is provided by a GeForce GTX 280M card, and it features a 17.3 inch widescreen full HD LCD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080, storage is provided by a range of hard drives from 250GB up to 500GB or SSDs which range from 64GB up to 256GB.

There is also an optional Blu-ray drive, plus a 7-in-1 card reader, 3D surround sound, 802.11 a/g/n WiFi and LAN.

Dell Adamo XPS Gets Official

Dell has been teasing us with photos of the new Adamo XPS for a while now, they have now officially launched it and the specifications look pretty impressive.

The Dell Adamo XPS is according to Dell, the world;s thinnest PC laptop, measuring just 9.9mm thick, making it considerably thinner than the 16.4mm of the previous Adamo.

It weighs in at just 1.44kg and measure 340 x 273.9mm, although it is ultra thin, the Dell Adamo XPS doesn’t skimp on specifications, with a 1.4GHz Intel ULV processor, 4GB of DDR3 RAM and a 128GB solid state drive (SSD).

The Dell Adamo XPS features a 13.4 inch HD display with a resolution of 1,366 x 728, it also has two USB 2.0 ports, a headphone jack and a mini display port.

Battery life comes in at just 2.5 hours on the standard battery, and 5 hours on the extended battery, pricing starts at $1,799 which makes it quite expensive compared to the ultra thin MacBook Air.

Dell haven’t given an specific release date, but the Dell Adamo XPS is expected to go on sale before Christmas.

Acer has added a new notebook to its range with the launch of the Acer Aspire 8940, which is Acer’s new flagship notebook with a range of high end features.

The Acer Aspire 8940 features a 1.6GHz Intel Core i7 720QM processor, an 18.4 inch Full HD widescreen display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080, 4GB of DDR3 RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250m 1GB graphics cards.

Viewsonic, well known for making monitors, has launched a new range of ultra portable notebooks, the Viewsonic Viewbook range.

There are three models in the range, a 12inch Viewbook VB120, a 13.3 inch Vb130 and a 14 inch VB140 Pro, all of the models in the range feature a display resolution of 1366 x 768, and come with a 6 cell battery that will give up to 8 hours of usage.

The Viewsonic Viewbook VB120 comes with a 1.3 GHz Intel Celeron processor, whilst the VB130 comes with the choice of either a 1.3GHz Intel Celeron processor, a 1.3GHz Dual Core Intel Pentium processor or a 1.3GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor.

The View book VB140 comes with a 1.3GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, all models come with Windows 7 Home Premium.

Prices start at just $599 for the Viewbook VB120, $699 for the VB130, and $949 for the VB140.

HP has added a new entertainment laptop to the range with the launch of the HP Pavilion dv8.

The HP Pavilion dv8 features an 18.4 inch LCD display, will full 1080p HD resolution, it is powered by an Intel Core i7 processor and comes with 4GB of RAM, and 640GB (320 x 2) of hard drive storage.

Other features include a Blue-Ray drive, and a 4 cell Lithium-ion battery, a TV tuner and NVIDIA GeForce GT230M graphics card with 1GB of DDR3 RAM.

The HP Pavilion dv8 will go on sale in the UK on October the 22nd and will come with Windows 7, it will retail for £1,300 about $2,000, there is no word on a US release date as yet.

The Acer Aspire AS5738PG features a 15.6 inch multi-touch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1,366 x 768, it features an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2GHz prcoessor, ATI Radeon HD 4570 Graphics with 512MB of DDR3 RAM, and 4GB of DDR2 RAM.

Processing comes in the form of Intel Core 2 Duo Quad or Extreme processors, and the Deimos supports up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM.

The Deimos X-10 can be configured for up to 1.5TB of storage, and has the choice for SSDs, other specifications include Multi Blu-ray reader, 5 speakers with a built-in sub-woofer, supports Dolby surround, 4 USB2.0 ports and both HDMI and DVI output ports.

HP is launching a limited edition of its HP Envy 15 Laptop, the HP Envy 15 Beats.

The HP Envy 15 Beats is a collaboration between HP and rapper Dr Dre, and it will feature a Beats sound system and a piano black high gloss finish, as well as a signature Beats design.

“We found that most PCs downgrade sound to unacceptable levels and when you reduce it further to a limited platform, like an mp3, the music doesn’t stand a chance. If music is an emotion, if it sounds better, then the emotion is better,” said Jimmy Iovine from Beats on the announcement.

Other features include some DJ software including Native Instruments’ Traktor LE and Audio 2 DJ. Traktor LE with Audio 2 DJ multichannel splitter.

The HP Envy 15 Beats limited edition will go on sale for $2,299.

The Sony Vaio X is an ultra portable laptop that weighs in at 1.6 pounds, it measures 7.29 inches by 10.95 inches by 0.55 inches, and features an 11 inch LED-backlit screen with a resolution of 1,366 x 768.

Processing comes in the form of a 2GHZ Intel Atom processor, 2GB of DDR2 RAM, integrated graphics and a 64GB SSD, there is also two USB 2.0 ports, Ethernet and a card reader, plus 802.11b/g/n WiFi and Bluetooth, plus built in 3G and GPS.

The Sony Vaio X will retail for $1,300, there is also a signature model which comes in gold and has a 128GB SSD, this model will retail for $1,500.

Dell has added a new laptop to their line up, although the latest model is somewhat different than anything we have seen from Dell previously, the Dell Latitude Z600.

The Dell Latitude Z600 is aimed at business users, and it features an interesting design, and some unique features, the most interesting feature is that you can buy an induction charging pad that will charge the Z600 without any wires.

Other features include ‘Always On’ where the Z600 is designed to be kept in standby, which basically gives you an instant boot OS, and according to Dell, the Z600 can remain in the ‘Always On’ state for up to 12 hours.

Other features include a F’aceAware system that recognizes when you leave your laptop via the webcam and automatically locks it.

The Dell Latitude Z600 is available now with prices starting at $1,999.

LG has launched a new range of notebook PCs, the LG Widebook series, which contains a total of five different models.

The five models in the range are the LG Widebook R560/R580, R460/R480 and the LG Widebook R380, and the come in a range of sizes, with the R560 and R580 featuring a 15.6 inch display, whilst the R460 and R480 feature a 14 inch display, and the R380 comes with a 13.3 inch display.

All of the models come with a 16:9 widescreen LED backlit display, and feature Intel Core 2 Duo processors, plus 2GB of RAM as standard on each model with the option to increase this to 4GB.

Other features include a built in 3G modem, WiFi, a 1.3 megapixel web camera, HDMI and e-SATA, plus certain models will also come with an NVIDIA GeForce graphics chip with up to 1GB of DDR2 video memory.

There is no word on pricing or availability as yet.

Yesterday we told you about the HP Envy 13 Notebook, which has now been officially unveiled along with a new model, the HP Envy 15.

The HP Envy 15 features a 15.6 inch LCD display, will feature an Intel Core i7 processor, and have the option to have up to a massive 16GB of RAM.

Other specifications include a 1GB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4830 graphics chip, and it will measure just 1 inch thick.

Unfortunately full details and specifications haven’t been released as yet, and are expected to be released next week.

The HP Envy 15 is due to go on sale in October, with prices starting at $1799.

The guys over at Notebook Italia have managed to get their hands on some photos of the new HP Envy 13 Ultra Portable Notebook.

The HP Envy 13 Ultra Portable Notebook is designed to take on the MacBook Air, and the Dell Adamo, it features a 13.1 inch display, and from the looks of the photos it is extremely thin.

Other specifications that we know about include HDMI, 2 USB ports and and audio jack, unfortunately that is it at the moment, no details on processor, memory or graphics as yet.

The new range of Dell Vostro Laptops come with either a 14.6 inch or a 15.6 inch screen, Intel Core 2 processors, improved battery life with WLED LCD displays, plus the choice of up to 4GB of RAM and a 320GB hard drive.

Dell Adamo is now $500 cheaper

Dell has reduced the price of their Adamo laptop by $500, but unfortunately it is still pretty expensive compared to the competition.

Dell has knocked $500 of all models bringing the base model down form $1,999 to $1,499, which is around the same price as the better specced MacBook Air.

The base model comes with 1.2GHsz Core 2 Duo processor, integrated Intel X4500 graphics and 2GB of RAM, and a 13 inch screen, plus a 128GB SSD.

If Dell want to compete against the MacBook Air they need to either lower the price or bring the specifications up to a similar level.

Rock has added a couple of new gaming laptops to its range with the launch of the Rock Xtreme 790 and Rock Xtreme 840.

The Rock Xtreme 790 (pictured below) comes with an Intel Core i7 processor, a 17 inch full HD display, up to 1.5 TB of storage via three 500GB 7200rpm hard drives or the choice of up to 750GB of storage via SSDs, plus a 7-in-1 card reader and 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi, plus up to 4GB of RAM.

The Rock Xtreme 840 (pictured above) comes with the an 18.4 inch display, the choice of either an Intel Core 2 Duo processor or an Intel Core 2 Quad processor, dual NVIDIA GTX 280M graphics cards.

Both of the new models are available to order from Rock, the Xtreme 790 starts at £1,999 about $3,285 and the Xtreme 840 starts at £1,699 about $2,800.
