Samsung has published and then removed details of its new Ivy Bridge powered NP700G7C-S01US laptop on its website this week. The new NP700G7C-S01US which has been designed for more intensive computers sessions and mobile gaming, was first showcased back January and is the first known laptop model with Ivy Bridge technology installed.

Ultrabooks were popular at this years CES, although most of the models we have seem so far are higher priced around the $1,000 and above mark, Intel has been looking to get the price of these new notebooks down.

One company that intends to launch a range of more budget friendly ultrabooks this year is Acer, and the company has announced that will be introducing new ultrabooks in the $699 to $799 price range.

Toshiba has yet to officially announced their new Portege M930 slider laptop, but Microsoft has already been showcasing the new sliding laptop at CES this month. Giving us an easily glimpse of the new Toshiba slier laptop and its features.

Uktrabooks seem to be the hot new products form companies at this years CES, we have already seen a number of different ultrabooks from a wide range of manufacturers, the latest one is from Dell.

The Dell XPS 13 ultrabook features a 13.3 inch display withing a 12 inch chassis, and it weighs in at 1.4kg, the 13.3 inch display comes with Gorilla Glass and it features a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels.

Last week we saw a video teaser of a new ultrabook from HP, and now HP has announced the HP Envy 14 Spectre ultrabook, and it certainly features a different design that any of the ultrabooks we have seen previously.

The lid of the HP Envy 14 Spectre is made from lightweight scratch resistant glass, the glass is also used on the display, the palm rest and the HP ImagePad, and it features a 14 inch display in a typical 13.3 inch laptop frame.

LG has announced two new ultrabooks that will be shown of at CES 2012 next week, the Lenovo Z330 and the Lenovo Z430, which the company calls their Super Ultrabook Series.

First up is the Z330 which comes with a 13.3 inch HD display, and according to LG it features a chassis which is the same size as a 12 inch notebook, and is just 14.7mm thick, and also light weighing in at 1.21kg.

Anyone hoping to get their hands on a new Razer Blade gaming laptop before the end of the year. Is going to be disappointed to learn, that Razer has now had to postpone the scheduled launch date for their new Blade laptop after hardware changes.

Towards the end of the development of the laptop Razer decided to upgrade the 320GB hard drive included in the Blade laptop to a lovely sparkling 256Gb solid state drive. But unfortunately the company has now run into a few problems trying to source the new SSDs for inclusion and launch before the holiday period.

It would appear that Apple could be planning to add much higher resolution displays to next years new MacBook Pro’s, according to a recent report from Digitimes, which could see a new 2880 x 1800 resolution on MacBook Pro’s.

According to the guys over at the Verge, references to a new HiDPI display mode was discovered in OS X Lion earlier this year, and these new displays would almost quadruple the resolution of existing displays, like the current 1,440 x 900 resolution that is available on the 15 inch MacBook Pro.

The majority of the Ultrabook notebooks that have been released so far retail for around the $1,000 and above mark, and Intel want to get the price of these devices down, although manufacturers haven’t been able to make the devices as cheap as Intel wants them to.

According to a recent report by Digitimes, Intel intends to subsidize each Ultrabook by around $100, which would allow manufacturers to sell the devices for up to $100 cheaper, the subsidy will be provided as a marketing subsidy to manufacturers by Intel.

HP Envy 15 And 17 Laptops Officially Unveiled

HP has taken the wraps off its new line of Envy laptops with the unveiling of their new top of the range Envy 15 and 17 laptops. The two new models are HP’s flagship laptops and this is reflected in both the price and build quality.

The Envy 15 and 17 are equipped with Radiance Infinity displays and the Envy 15 will be sporting a 1366 x 768 resolutions and the Envy 17 a 1080p screen. As far as power is concerned the Envy 15 will be equipped with Core i5-2430M processor supported by 6 gigs of DDR3 memory, with 1GB of AMD Radeon graphics. Exact specification haven’t been announced as yet for the model of graphics card installed.

HP Folio 13 Ultrabook Announced

HP is the latest company to announce a new Ultrabook notebook, with the launch of the HP Folio 13 which features a 13.3 inch HD display, and it is powered by the latest Intel Core processors and comes with a 128GB solid state drive (SSD).

The HP Folio 13 comes with 4GB of DDR3 RAM as standard, and it also comes with a battery which will give you up to 13 hours of battery life, plus USB 3.0, a couple of USB 2.0 ports and a RJ 45 port, plus a HD web camera.

15 Inch MacBook Air Coming Next March?

We recently heard that Apple is working on a new ultra thin 15 inch laptop, which could either be a new design for the MacBook Pro or a new 15 inch MacBook Air, and now more details have emerged on the mystery 15 inch device.

The news comes from Digitimes who are reporting that the device could go on sale next March, and components for the device are now being made and shipped to manufacturers.

We have featured a number of different laptop stands here at Geeky Gadgets, the latest one is called the Prop, and it was designed by Justin Brouillette & Nicholas Pajerski from Make Collaboration, and the designers are trying to raise $18,000 on Kickstarter to put the Prop into production.

Asus N Series Notebooks Launched

Asus have this week announced the arrival of their new N Series Notebooks in Europe SonicMaster audio technology for a superior multimedia experience. The new N Series systems have been designed by David Lewis and are available with in either 15.6” or 17.3” display sizes with a 1600 x 900 resolution.

They are powered by either an Intel Core i5 or Intel Core i7 processor,supported by 6 GB of DDR3 RAM which can be upgraded further to 8 GB if required. They also feature a 640 GB of storage, Nvidia graphics, USB 3.0 slot, HDMI port, five in one card reader, and SonicMaster sound systems co-development with Bang & Olufsen.

We heard earlier that Apple was expected to update its MacBook pro range, and now it would appear that the new versions of the MacBook pro are now available from Apple’s online store.

As we mentioned earlier the entry level 13 inch MacBook Pro now comes with a choice of either a 2.4GHz or 2.8 GHz dual core i5 processor, and up to a 750GB hard drive.

We have been hearing rumors that Apple are getting ready to update their MacBook Pro range, and now the guys over at 9 to 5 Mac have some possible specifications for the new MacBook Pro’s.

According to the report, the 13 inch MacBook pro will be available with either a 2.4GHz dual core processor, 4GB of RAM, and a 500GB hard drive or a 2,8GHz dual core processor with 4GB of RAM and a 750GB hard drive.

We have been hearing rumors over the last few week that Apple have been getting ready to launch some new MacBook Pro’s, the guys over at 9 to 5 Mac recently discovered some new MacBook Pro part numbers, and now it could be possible that the new MacBook Pro’s may launch next week.

According to the report new new MacBook Pro’s will be priced exactly the same as the existing models, although we don’t as yet have any details on what new hardware may be inside the new MacBook Pro’s.

Intel’s Ultrabook platform is designed to bring super slim notebooks which are fast to boot up to consumers for under $1,000, although many of the hardware manufacturers have struggled to produce ultrabooks for below the $1,000 mark, one of the major costs of the devices is SSD’s.

Last week we heard about Acer’s Aspire S3 Ultrabook, which uses a hybrid SSD and HDD, with a 20GB SSD and a 320GB HDD, Acer were able to release their base model for $899.

Asus announced their new ultraportable notebooks a while back, in the form of the Asus UX21 and UX31, and now they have gone on sale in the US, and Asus are calling them the Asus Zenbook ultraportable range.

There are a total of five different models available, two with 11.6 inch displays and three models with 13.3 inch displays, and the come with a range of Intel Core i5 and i7 processors, solid state drives and more.

Some of our readers will remember the Acer Aspire S3 ultrabook that was announced recently, good news if you have been waiting to get your hands on one as Acer has just announced that the Aspire S3 ultrabook is now shipping.

The Acer Aspire S3 comes with a 13.3 inch display with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels, and it measures just 0.51 inches thick and will be available with a choice of Intel Core i3, Core i5 and Core i7 processors.

We have already seen a number of new notebooks which are based on Intel’s Ultrabook platform, but now according to a recent report, the next generation of Intel’s Ultrabook’s which will be based on Intel’s Ivy Bridge platform will feature much higher resolution displays.

Most of the current Ultrabooks we have seen come with a HD display with a resolution of 2368 x 768 pixels, but according to the guys over at VR-Zone, we can expect some much higher resolution Ultrabooks in 2012.

Dell XPS 14z Thin Laptop Launched (video)

Dell has today announced a new addition to their range of thin display notebooks with the launch of their new Dell XPS 14z, following on from their Dell XPS 15z which was launched at the end of May.

The new Dell XPS 14z is a smaller 14 inch 1366×768 HD LED display model which has already been showcased at the IFA 2011 in Berlin earlier this year. The Dell XPS 14z is equipped with the same super-slim display bezel that was created by LG and dubbed Shuriken display.

Asus UX Ultrabooks Launching October 11th

Asus announced its new range of ultrabook notebooks back in May, the first one was the new Asus UX21, and now it looks like the Asus range of ultrabooks will finally go on sale.

Asus will be launching its UX ultrabooks in New York at a special event on the 11th of October, and whilst the know about two models, the Asus UX21 and Asus UX31, we can probably expect to see some other new models as well.
