New Cedar Trail HP Mini Netbooks In The Works

Last week HP launched the HP Mini 1104 netbook, which comes with Intel’s latest cedar Trail processors and is designed for business and education users, and now it looks like HP will be updating their consumer range of netbooks to Intel’s Cedar Trail platform.

New versions of HP’s Mini 110 and Mini 210 netbooks have appeared on a French retailers website and they come with the latest Intel Atom processors.

MSI has launched a new netbook that uses Intel’s new Cedar Trail platform, the MSI Wind U180 , which features a 10.1 inch inch display with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels.

The MSI Wind U`180 comes with a 1.86GHz Intel Atom N2800 Cedar Trail processor, plus 1GB of RAM and a 320GB hard drive, plus Intel GMA 3650 graphics which supports 1080p video and comes with HDMI out.

Earlier today we heard about a new netbook from Lenovo that will use Intel’s new Cedar Trail platform, and now we have some details on Asus’s latest range of netbooks which will also use the Intel Cedar Trail processors.

Asus are expected to show off a number of new netbooks at CES later this month, and according to the guys from Notebook Italia these new devices will be part of the Asus Eee PC Flare netbook range.

Lenovo has released a video which gives us a look at their latest netbook, the Lenovo IdeaPad S110, which will feature Intel’s new Cedra Trail processors, and it will feature a 10.1 inch HD display.

The Lenovo S110 features an Intel Atom N2600 processor and comes with 1GB of RAM and a 320GB hard drive, there is also USB 3.0, WiFi and a VGA port.

Asus has added another netbook to their line up with the launch of the Asus Eee PC 1225B, and the device comes with an 11.6 inch LED backlit display with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels.

Processing is provided by a dual core AMD Fusion APU E450 1.65GHz processor, and you get a choice of either 2GB or 4GB of DDR3 RAM, plus up to a 750GB HDD.

Dell Stops Selling Netbooks

Dell recently decided to kill off their Dell Streak 7 and Dell Streak 5 tablets, and now it would appear the company is killing off another gadget, Netbooks, according to Brad from Liliputing.

And it looks like Dell has now confirmed to The Verge that they will no longer be selling netbooks with a 10 inch display or smaller, so we can probably expect to see some new ultrabooks from Dell instead.

Samsung To Stop Producing Netbooks Next Year?

It looks like Samsung may be putting an end to its range of various netbooks, and instead concentrating its efforts on Intel’s new Ultrabook platform, as details of an email that Samsung has sent ot its trading partners has been revealed.

The email, which you can see below mentions that Samsung will discontinue their 10.1 inch netbook range, and will be producing 11.6 and 12 inch Ultrabooks instead.

Panasonic has already released a couple of Android smartphone in Japan, like the Panasonic Lumix Phone 101P, which is an Android 2.3 Gingerbread device only available in Japan.

Now it would appear that Panasonic is looking to release some smartphones outside of Japan, and these will most likely be Android devices, and they are probably looking to launch these devices in the US and Europe.

If you live in the US and have been thinking of upgrading to an environmentally friendly solar powered netbook. You will be pleased to know that Samsung are shortly going to be shipping their new Samsung NC215S Solar Powered netbook to the US and Russia.

The solar powered netbook will be arriving in the US on July 3rd and is equipped with a solar panel that is capable of generating enough power in two hours of sunlight to power the netbook for an hour. Samsung also states that with a full charged battery the Samsung NC215S netbook should be able to provide up to 14 hours of use.

When Asus launched the first Eee PC netbook a few years ago it came with Linux, this enabled Asus to sell the Eee PC’s as cheap as possible, although Microsoft released a version of Windows designed for netbooks, which saw many manufacturers use Windows as their netbook OS.

Now Asus has announced that it has three new Netbooks in the works that will come with Linux as the OS, the Asus Eee PC 1001 PXD, 1011 PX and 1015 PX will all come with Ubuntu 10.1.

This week Google has launched its new range of Chromebooks in the form of the Samsung Chromebook Series 5 and Acer Chromebook. But even before their launch it was announced that Verizon would be providing the Stateside 3G connectivity. However very little was know about the UK’s 3G provider for the new Google devices, until now.

Three UK have now published a post on their site announcing that they will be providing the new Chromebooks with 3G connectivity in the UK and British Chromebook users will receive a free SIM card, providing up to 3GB of 3G coverage for the first three months.

At Google I/O today Google has taken the wraps off its new Acer Chromebook system equipped with a 11.6 inch 1,366 x 768-pixel 16:9 screen and powered by an Intel Atom N570 processor supported by 2GB RAM.

The new netbook is also equipped with a 16Gb SSD drive and 1.3 megapixel camera and will be soon available to purchase for a bargain price of $349, for the Wi-fi only version. If you would prefer a 3G equipped netbook this is also available as an option for an additional cost.

A Chromium bug report has revealed a new Samsung Chrome OS netbook named ‘Alex’ which is equipped with a 1280 x 800 display that is rumoured to be 10 inches in size, like the mockup pictured below.

Its thought to be powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core Atom N550, SanDisk SSD P4 of unknown capacity, and 2GB RAM. Together with listing for a Qualcomm Gobi 2000 3G card, Bluetooth, WiFi, webcam, and a Synaptics touchpad.

Samsung has combined a netbook and tablet to create its new Sliding PC 7, a 10.1 inch 1366 x 768-resolution touchscreen tablet equipped with a full slide out keyboard.

The new device runs Windows 7 and is powered by an Intel Atom Z670 CPU, 2GB of RAM with either 32 or 64GB of solid state drive storage that allows it to boot in around 20 seconds. For connectivity the Samsung Sliding PC 7 can use either 3G or WiMAX.

Gigabyte Launches Atom N550-Based M1005, Q2005 Netbooks

Gigabyte has just added a couple of new Netbooks to its range the Gigabyte Q2005 pictured below and the Gigabyte M1005 pictured after the jump.

Both are equipped with a Intel Atom Dual Core Processor N550(1.50GHz) run either Windows 7 Starter or Home Premium and are fitted with 10.1 inch 1024×600 LED backlight displays.

Acer Aspire One 522 AMD Fusion Netbook

It looks like Acer is about to launch a new netbook based on AMD’s new Fusion platform, which will features the new dual core C-50 AOU and integrated Radeon 6250 graphics which comes with DX11 support.

The Acer Aspire One 522 will features a 10.1 inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, there is also integrated WiFi.

Fujitsu T580 Tablet Starts Shipping

Fujitsu has now started shipping their new T580 tablet netbook they unveiled a few months ago. The netbook transforms into a tablet device by rotating the 10 inch WXGA LED backlight display that has a 1366 x 768 resolution.

The screen is capable of either being used with the touch of your finger or using the supplied active pen providing dual-digitiser support. The touch screen is able to recognising up to four points of contact on the screen at any time and is designed as a 4-finger capacitive multi-touch screen.

Hitachi has announced that it is now shipping its new and very thin 500GB HDD called the Travelstar Z5K500. The new HDD is a single platter drive that is only 7mm thick. The average 2.5-inch HDD is a 9.5mm form factor.

Google sent out the invites to the Chrome event last week, which was pretty short notice, so it will be interesting to see what they have to announce.

Dell Inspiron Duo Gets Cloned

The Dell Inspiron Duo convertible netbook and tablet has only recently gone one sale, and it seems this new gadget has already been cloned by a manufacturer in Shenzen.

As you can see in the photo below, this tablet and netbook looks very similar to the Dell Inspiron DUO, and it comes with an Intel N450 processor and Intel GMA 3150 graphics.

It looks like Google are getting ready to launch their Chrome OS, as they have sent out invites to a Chrome event for next Tuesday, December the 7th.

According to Engadget, who posted the information before the events were sent out, Google will be launching their Google branded netbook, with their Chrome OS next week. It looks like they will also be launching their Chrome and web applications store at the same time.

Toshiba NB500 And NB520 Netbooks Announced

Toshiba has added two new netbooks to their range with the launch of the Toshiba NB500 and NB520 netbooks. Both models come with an Intel Atom 1.5GHz N550 dual core processor, there is also 1GB of RAM and a 250GB hard drive.

Other specifications on the NB500 and NB520 include Bluetooth, three USB 2.0 ports, VGA, an SD card reader, Ethernet, and an optional 3G modem.

Earlier today we reported that Google has other plans for their Chrome OS, than just netbooks, now it appears that we may see some Google branded netbooks with the next few weeks.

According to TechCrunch, the Google branded netbooks which are being built for Google by a third party manufacturer could possibly be available within the next few weeks.

According to the New York Times, Google will be releasing a Chrome OS netbook before the end of the year, and it seems the netbook will be a Google branded product, which has been manufactured by a third party.

We told you last week that the Jolicloud Jolibook would be going on sale last Friday, it looks like it has finally gone on sale today and is now available in the UK for £279.99.

The Jolicloud Jolibook comes with dual core Intel Atom N550 1.5GHz processor, and has a 250GB hard drive, and also features a 10.1 inch LCD display, plus it runs the Jolicloud OS, which is a Linux based operating system.

According to the WSJ, the Jolicloud Jolibook which we featured on the site previously will be available in the UK from Friday the 19th of November, and will be available in other countries after that.

The Jolibook features a dual core Intel Atom N550 1.5GHz processor, and has a 250GB hard drive, and also features a 10.1 inch LCD display, plus it runs the Jolicloud OS, which is a Linux based operating system.

Some of our readers will remember the Dell Inspiron Duo tablet that we featured on the site a while back, it seems that this unique tablet will be available from next week, from the 23rd of November.

As a reminder, the Dell Inspiron Duo is a hybrid tablet that can be used as booth a tablet and a netbook, and it features a 10 inch swivelling LCD display, and Intel Atom N550 processor and a full QWERTY keyboard.
