Details have been leaked of Lenovo’s Thinkpad X100e, which is designed to be a business class netbook.

The Lenovo Thinkpad X100e will features a 11.6 inch LCD display with a resolution of 1366 x 768, processing will come in the form of an AMD Athlon Neo MV-40 processor and up to 4GB of RAM.

Other specifications include the choice of either a 160GB, 250GB or 320GB 2.5 inch 5400rpm hard drive, plus 3 USB 2.0 ports, VGA out, a 4 in 1 card reader, built in 802.11b/g/n WiFi and optional Bluetooh.

The Lenovo Thinkpad X100e will come with a choice of a 3 cell or 6 cell battery,and it is expected to retail for around $449.

Asus Eee PC 1201N Pricing Details Revealed

We have been hearing about the upcoming Asus Eee PC 1201N NVIDA ION powered netbook from Asus for quite some time now, and many of us are still waiting for it to be available in the stores, good news, it looks like the Asus Eee PC 1201N will go on sale for $499.

Although there are still no details on the exact release date, the Asus Eee PC 1201N is expected to be available some time next month.

The Asus Eee PC 1201N features a dual core Intel Atom 330 processor, plus NVIDIA’s ION chipset, 2GB of RAM as standard with the option to upgrade to 3GB of RAM, and a 250GB hard drive.

Other specifications include Windows 7 Home Premium, 802.11b/g/n WiFI, Bluetooth, Ethernet, HDMI, VGA, 3 USB 2.0 ports, SD card slot, mic, headphones and a 0.3MP web camera.

Samsung Go Netbook Coming To AT&T 22nd November

Samsung has today announced that its Samsung Go Netbook, which features integrated 3G will be coming to AT&T on the 22nd of November.

The AT&T Samsung Go Netbook comes with Microsoft Windows 7 starter edition, and it features a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor, 1GB of RAM and a 160GB hard drive.

The Samsung Go netbook comes with a 10.1 inch LED backlit display, and a 4 cell 4000Ah battery, which will give you up to four hours of usage.

There is no word on pricing of the Samsung Go with AT&T, although it will probably come subsidised with a data contract, full details will be available on the 22nd of November.

Sony Updates Vaio P Netbooks

Sony has updated its range of Vaio P netbooks, the new models now come with a choice of Windows 7 Home Premium or Windows 7 Professional plus a new range of Intel Atom processors.

The base model comes with a 1.33GHz Intel Atom processor, 2GB of RAM and am 80GB hard drive, a built in 3G modem and GPS, this model retails for the same as before at $850.

The next model in the Vaio P range features a 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor, 2GB of RAM and a 64GB SSD, plus a built in 3G modem and GPS, it will retails for $1,000.

The top end model comes with a 2GHz Intel Atom processor, 2GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD, plus built in GPS and a 3G modem, this one sells for $1,900, and all models should be available by the end of November.

A company called Litl has launched a new netbook called the The Litl Webbook, although the design is slightly different than the standard netbooks that have been available, as it can be used as a standard netbook or the screen can be flipped over and it can be used as a TV device with an optional remote.

The Litl Webbook features a 12 inch LCD display, and it is powered by an Intel Atom 1.6GHz processor, it comes with 1GB of RAM and 2GB of built in flash storage, plus a GPU which can playback H.264 in 720p.

There is also a built in web camera and microphone, and there is no hard drive inside the Litl Webbook, all your data is stored on the Intenet and it also has built in WiFi, a headphone port, HDMI and a USB 2,0 port.

“As everything from music and photos to email and social networking moves online, it’s clear that the web is transforming personal computing. And yet, most homes are still using computers and software based on thinking from more than 30 years ago.” explained litl’s founder and CEO John Chuang. “We knew that to really meet the needs of home users – from kids to parents and grandparents – we needed to design an entirely new system that would make the web engaging, entertaining and fun.”

Sprint Offers 3G Dell Mini 10 Netbook

Sprint is now selling the Dell Mini 10 netbook with built in 3G on a 24 month contract for $199, which includes a $100 mail in rebate, customers have to sign up to a 24 month data contract, which will cost users $59.99 per month for 5GB of data.

The deal seems a little expensive to be honest, as you are only saving $100 of the price of a new Dell Mini 10, and you are then tied into a 24 month contract, you would have though that Sprint would be giving the netbook away for free to attract customers.

Dell Inspiron Mini 10 is a fun way to easily access the speeds of Sprint’s network to catch-up on email, surf the Web and more,” said Kevin Packingham, senior vice president – Product Development, Sprint. “We are excited to add this great Dell product to our industry-leading portfolio of devices available from Sprint that work on America’s most dependable 3G network. Acer has added a new notebook to the line up with the launch of the Acer Aspire AS1410 CULV Netbook.

The Acer Aspire AS1410 features a 1.2GHz Intel Celeron processor, 2GB of RAM which can be upgraded to 4GB, a 160GB hard drive, and an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD and HDMI out.

It features an 11.6 inch HD LED display, with a resolution of 1366 x 768, other specifications include a multi-in-1 card reader, two stereo speakers with Dolby Sound Room audio enhancement, and three USB 2.0 ports.

The Acer Aspire AS1410 features a multi gesture touchpad, which supports circular and scrolling motions, and it also has a 6 cell Li-Ion battery which will give you up to 6 hours of battery life.

The ii-View A2 Netbook features a 12inch LCD display with a resolution of 1366 x 768, it features an Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz processor and 2GB of RAM.

Storage comes in the form of a 320GB hard drive, there are also two USB 2.0 ports, a built in mono speaker and HDMI out, plus 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, and a two in one headphone jack.

Nokia Booklet 3G Coming To The US November

We have seen quite a few details about the new Nokia Booklet 3G, the only things we have been waiting for is the release date and the price.

Nokia has confirmed that the Booklet 3G will be released in the US in November, it will retail for $299 with a two year data contract with AT&T which will cost you $60 a month.

So overall over the two year contract it is going to cost you a total of $1,740 which seems pretty expensive, alternatively you will be able to buy the Nokia Booklet 3G without the data contract for $599.
The Nokia Booklet 3G features an Intel Atom Z530 1.6GHz processor, 1GB of DDR2 533 MHz RAM, a 120GB 1.8 inch 4200 RPM SATA hard drive with 8MB of cache, and a 10.1 inch LCD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720.

There is still no word on pricing or availability for the UK.

Some of our readers will remember the new Asus Eee PC 1201N Netbook that we featured on the site last month, it seems like more details have been leaked on this unreleased model along with another model, the Asus Eee PC 1201A.

The Asus Eee PC 1201N will come with a 12.1 inch LCD display, with a resolution of 1366 x768, and Intel Atom N330 1.6GHz Dual Core processor, and NVIDIA’s ION graphics.

Other specifications include Windows 7 Home Premium, 3GB of DDR2 RAM, a 320GB hard drive, plus an additional 500GB of online storage, 802.11b/g/n WiFI, Bluetooth, Ethernet, HDMI, VGA, 3 USB 2.0 ports, SD card slot, mic, headphones and a 0.3MP web camera.

The Asus Eee PC 1201N will come with a multi-touch touchpad and a 6 cell battery with up to 8 hours of usage.

The Asus 1201A features similar specifications, the same display, although it comes with 2GB of RAM and a 250GB hard drive.

There is no word on pricing or availability as yet, but it is likely that Asus will start selling both models shortly after the release of Windows 7.

Nokia Booklet 3G Comes To O2 Germany 22nd October

It has been a while since we have heard anything about the much anticipated Nokia Booklet 3G, Nokia and O2 Germany have confirmed that the Nokia Booklet 3G will go on sale in Germany from the 22nd of October.

The Nokia Booklet 3G will be available on a 24 month contract with O2 Germany, customers will have to pay 249 Euros up front for the device, plus a monthly fee of 20 Euros.

There is also an optional flat rate data tariff available, which will cost users 25 Euros per month, although there are no details on the upfront cost with this tariff.

As yet there are no details on release dates for the UK and US or any pricing details, although we suspect that O2 in the UK will be selling the Nokia Booklet 3G for a similar price.

MSI has updated their Wind U110 netbook, the new version is virtually identical to the previous model, the only main difference is that the new Wind U110 Eco is reported to have a 15 hour battery life.

The MSI Wind U110 Eco comes with a 10 inch backlit LCD screen with a resolution of 1024 x 600, processing comes in the form of an Intel Atom Z530 1.6GHz processor.

Other specification include 1GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive, a high definition web camera, speaker and a mic, plus 802.11 b/g/n/ WiFi, Bluetooth and Ethernet.

The 15 h0urs battery life comes from a 9 cell battery, which is the only major difference we can see from the previous model, if it can last for 15 hours that would be pretty impressive.

Samsung has updated it netbook range with the launch of a couple of new models, the Samsung N130 and N140, which feature a 10.1 inch LCD display.

Both of these new netbooks comes with an Intel Atom 1.6GHz Atom processor, and Intel GMA 950 graphics, plus 1GB of RAM and a 160GB hard drive.

The N140 comes with Bluetooth 2.1, stereo 1.5w speakers and SRS audio, plus it features a higher powered battery which is supposed to last for 11 hours, as opposed to 7 hours on the N130.

Both of these new Samsung Netbooks are available now in the UK with the N130 reatiling for £279.99 and the N140 retailing for £329.

Sony Vaio X Netbook

Sony has unveiled a new netbook at the IFA in Berlin, the Sony Vaio X, which is considerably thinner than Apples MacBook Air.

Although the specifications are limited at the moment, we do know that the Vaio X measures 0.55 inches thick, compared to the 0.76 inches of the MacBook Air, and it weighs in at just 1.5 pounds which is half the weight of the MacBook Air.

It will come with an Intel Atom processor, and Sony are saying that it will provide ‘All Day” battery life, thats about as much as we know so far on the specifications.

I hope Sony don’t price this like they did they Vaio P, which basically priced it out of the netbook market, if they are smart they will make it affordable and they could have a serious hit on their hands with the Vaio X.

More news from Nokia today, they have revealed full details and specifications on the new Nokia Booklet 3G that we featured last month.

The Nokia Booklet 3G will come with an Intel Atom Z530 1.6GHz processor, 1GB of DDR2 533 MHz RAM, a 120GB 1.8 inch 4200 RPM SATA hard drive with 8MB of cache, and a 10.1 inch LCD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720.

Other specifications include a 16 cell battery, which according to Nokia will give you up to 12 hours of usage, it will be interesting to see if the battery lives up to Nokia’s claim as this would be impressive.

The Nokia Booklet 3G also comes with 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, and a built in 3G modem with a hot swappable Sim card, and it will comes with Windows 7.

Asus is currently the most popular manufacturer of netbooks, details have been leaked of their netbook roadmap which shows new products which will be released by Asus this year.

Some of the new netbooks that Asus will be releasing, feature NVIDIA’s Ion graphics chip, and other specifications that have been revealed include a new larger 12 inch netbook and a multi touch tablet PC.

Asus’s new range of netbooks are expected to retail from $300 up to $500, and the most noteable of the new models in the Asus 1201N, which will features a 12 inch display, an Intel Atom N270 processor, 2GB of RAM and a 250GB hard drive.

Yesterday we told you about Nokia’s first netbook, the Nokia Booklet 3G, Nokia has released a promotional video which gives us more of an idea of this new netbook.

As you can see from the video the Nokia Booklet 3G features an aluminum casing, and it certainly looks very stylish, other features include a 12 hour battery life, and a 10 inch HD display, check out the video after the break.

I have to admit, I think this is going to be a great netbook, depending on pricing, and if Apple did ever release a netbook, I think the Nokia Booklet 3G could give them some serious competition.

Nokia has just launched their very first netbook, the Nokia Booklet 3G.

The Nokia Booklet 3G comes with an Intel Atom processor, plus a 10 inch LCD display, which Nokia are calling ‘HD ready’ so I presume it will be able to playback HD content.

Other specifications include integrated A-GPS, which will come with the Ovi Maps software, HDMI out, and a 12 hour battery, which sounds pretty impressive.

As the name would suggest the Nokia Booklet 3G will come with built in 3G/HSPA connectivity, plus WiFi which will provide high speed Internet access on the go.

Unfortunately there is no word on pricing or availability as yet, but Nokia will be releasing more details on the Nokia Booklet 3G Netbook on the 2nd of September at Nokia World.

I have to admit it looks pretty good from the publicity shots, and the specifications seem decent as well, I suspect it will be using NVIDIA Ion graphics, lets hope Nokia price the Nokia Booklet 3G Netbook competitively.

Dell have just launched their first child focused netbook, the Dell Inspiron Mini Nickelodeon Edition. Which has been designed specifically for kids and has the Nickelodeon trademark green slime both on the outside and inside. Bundles together with entertaining and educational software which will please the oldies.

Based on Dell’s popular Inspiron Mini 10v netbook it features a10.1-inch color LCD display and built-in wireless Internet access and weighs less than 3 pounds.

Vodafone [VOD] UK has just announced that it is selling the Samsung NC10 netbook with built in 3G.

Some of our readers will remember the specifications on the Samsung NC10, it comes with 10.2 inch LCD display with a resolution of 1024 x 600, it is powered by and Intel Atom processor and comes with 1GB of memory and a 160GB hard drive.

The Samsung NC10 with built in 3G is available free with a Vodafone 24 month 1GB contract which costs £25 a month or a Vodafone 3GB contract which costs £30 per month.

The Samsung NC10 is now available from Vodafone.

Tech Radar are reporting that Sony is set to release a new version of its Vaio P in October.

Although the Sony Vaio P hasn’t been the success that Sony wanted, mostly due to its high price, Sony intend to release an updated version in October.

The New version will see faster boot times, presumably it will come with Windows 7, other specifications are pretty much limited, it is expected to cost the same as current models, so you may be better off check out the Sony Vaio W, which is the companies first netbook.

Earlier today we saw the new HP Mini 5101 Netbook, now we have a new model from Gateway, the Gateway LT3100 Netbook.

The Gateway LT3100 Netbook features an 11.6 inch LCD screen with a resolution of 1366 x 768, and instead of the industry standard Intel Atom processor, it comes with an AMD Athlon 64 Single Core L110 processor.

Memory comes in the form of 2GB of DDR2 RAM, there is also integrated Ati Radeon X1270 graphics, and a 250GB 5400 RPM SATA Hard drive.

Other features of the Gateway LT3100 Netbook include a built in webcam, stereo speakers, 3 USB 2.0 ports and a 6 cell Li-Ion battery.

The Gateway LT3100 Netbook will come with Windows Vista Basic and will retail for about $400.

HP has added a new netbook to their range with the stylish looking HP Mini 5101.

The HP Mini 5101 features an aluminum and magnesium chassis, and a 95 percent full size QWERTY keyboard, plus a 10.1 inch display that comes in either HD with a resolution of 1366 x 768 or WSVGA with a resolution of 1024 x 600.

Processing comes in the form on an Intel Atom N280 processor, it comes with 1GB of DDR2 RAM and the option to upgrade to 2GB, storage comes as a choice of HDD’s from 160GB up to 320GB or an SSD.

The HP Mini 5101 has 3 USB 2.0 ports, VGA, Ethernet, and WiFi, plus an optional HP Mobile Broadband module.

It will go on sale in July for $449, I have to admit this looks like one of the better netbooks we have seen, and I like the idea of the larger keyboard.

Some of our readers will remember the Acer Android Netbook that was announced earlier this week, which looked to be the first netbook to launch with the Google Android OS.

Unfortunately it looks like it will come Android, but not as a single OS, but in a dual boot configuration with Windows XP.

According to Acer this is being done as not many users are familiar with the Android OS compared to XP, and because it is not yet a proven OS.
So basically it is going to cost the same as most netbooks as instead of running a free OS as its primary one it will be running Windows XP.

BenQ has announced the launch of a new netbook, the BenQ JoyBook Lite U121 Eco, which features an 11.6 WXGA LCD display with a resolution of 1,366 x 768.

The BenQ JoyBook Lite U121 Eco is powered by a 1.33GHz Intel Atom Z530 processor, and will come with a choice of storage options including 160GB, 250GB, 320GB and 500GB hard drives or the choice of either an 8GB, 16GB or 32GB SSD.

It comes with 2GB of RAM, Bluetooth 2.1, HSUPA connectivity, WiFi, built in speaker, a 1.3 megapixel camera and HDMI out.

These new memory cards will add much needed space to netbooks, they come in 8GB and 16GB sizes, although the only difference between these SDHC cards and standard SDHC cards is that they have the name ‘Netbook’ on the front.

The Sandisk Netbook SDHC Cards will retail for $39.99 for the 8GB version and $79.99 for the 16GB version.
