Mobile Operators Join Together To Take On Apple’s App Store

Apple’s App store has been a great success for Apple and developers, who have both shared large revenues, whilst mobile phone operators have missed out on the revenues,  and it looks like they are attempting to change that.

Twenty four of the worlds largest mobile phone operators have teamed up to form the Wholesale Applications Community, which according to them is designed to make it easier for developers to build and sell applications on any device and technology.

Motorola Quench / CLIQ XT Google Android Smartphone

Motorola has added a new Google Android smartphone to its range with the launch of the Motorola Quench, or CLIQ XT as it will be known in the US, and it looks like this is the new Motorola handset that we showed you the other week.

The Motorola Quench / CLIQ XT will come with Google Android 1.5 and will feature Motorola’s MotoBlur UI. It features a 3.1 inch HVGA touchscreen with pinch and zoom functions, plus a front navigation touch-pad.

Samsung Wave Bada OS Smartphone

Samsung has added a new mobile phone to their range with the launch of the Samsung Wave. The Wave is Samsung’s first smartphone to run their new Bada OS.

The Samsung Wave features a 1GHz processor and a 3.3 inch WVGA Super AMOLED touchscreen with a resolution of 800 x 480, plus a five megapixel camera with a built in LED flash and auto focus, and a range of shooting modes which include, smile, panorama, continuous, beauty and vintage shot, it also features a built in photo editor, and it is also capable of recording HD video in 720p.

Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro

Recently, Sony Ericcson launched the Vivaz and Xperia phones. The company is introducing three new phones that are a continuation of its previously released 3G Vivaz and Xperia x10. iCharge Smartphone Payment Device

iCharge based in Berlin and London is launching a device which will be in direct competition with Jack Dorsey’s Square credit card payment system.

Similar to the Square the iCharge is a small device that connects to your smart phone and allows you to take payments via credit card very easily. The iCharge system uses SSL encryption and all cards are checked on payment fraud and also attacks the transaction with a GPS location of where the transaction took place.

Garmin-Asus nuvifone M10

Garmin-Asus are launching their nuvifone M10 new phone hot on the heel of their A50 Android handset. The new nuvifone M10 will be available in the first half of 2010 and is equipped with a  600MHz Qualcomm MSM 7227 CPU running Microsoft WinMo 6.5.3 OS.

No Google Android 2.1 Update For The Motorola Droid This Week?

Acer E110 Google Android Smartphone

Today seems to be the day for new Google Android powered smartphones, a new model from Acer has been revealed the Acer E110.

It looks like the Acer E110 will run Google Android 2.0, and will support GSM Quad Band, GPRS, EGPRS, UMTS, and HSDPA. Other specifications include support for both GPS and AGPS.

HTC Scorpion Details Leaked

Earlier today we had some details on the new HTC Legend, now it appears that HTC are working on another Google Android smartphone called the HTC Scorpion.

According to the information that the guys over at Mobile Crunch received, the HTC Scorpion may come with a 1.5GHz processor, which would be ones of the fastest processor seen in an Android handset, most likely to be the new Qualcomm 1.5GHz Snapdragon processor that was announced last month.
