Solar Bluetooth Headset

Personally I am not a fan of Bluetooth Headsets, but if you use them then here is one that might be useful, the Solar Bluetooth Headset.

The Solar Bluetooth Headset can be charged via USB or via the built in solar panel on the back, it can be placed on your dashboard in your car and will recharge via the built in solar panel.

NTT Docomo Develops Wooden Mobile Phones

NTT Docomo has developed a couple of mobile phone prototypes using surplus wood f trees culled during thinning operations to maintain healthy forests.

The new prototypes were created in a joint venture between NTT Docomo and Sharp, and the handsets have been given the name ‘Touch Wood’.

Samung CobryTXT and CorbyPRO Mobile Phones

Samsung has added a pair of new mobile phones to its Corby range, with the launch of the CorbyTXT and CorbyPRO.

The CorbyTXT comes with a full QWERTY keyboard, a 2 megapixel camera, a 3.5mm headphone jack and interchangeable faceplate’s.

Sprint and Samsung have launched a new model of their popular Samsung Instinct mobile phone, the Samsung Instinct HD.

The Samsung Instinct HD  features a 3.2 inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 320 x 480, a 5 megapixel camera, that can record HD video in 720P.

Vodafone 360 Platform and Handsets Launched

Vodafone, has launched a new mobile networking an app platform called Vodafone 360, along with a couple of new Samsung handsets.

The Vodafone 360 Platform is designed to bring Facebook, Windows Live, Google Contacts Sync, mobile content and software apps to their range of handsets, and the platform will support the majority of Nokia handsets as well as two new Vodafone 360 branded Samsung Handsets.

Palm Pre UK Launch Date 16th October 2009

O2 has confirmed the UK launch date of the Palm Pre, from October the 16th 2009, O2 will be selling the Palm Pre in the UK.

The Palm Pre will be free to O2 customers who take out a 24 month contract, and to customers who take an 18 month contract on the £44.05 and above tariffs.

Microsoft Turtle and Pure Smartphones

Yesterday we saw the new Microsoft Courier Tablet, today Gizmodo has another exclusive, two new smartphones from Microsoft (MSFT), the Microsoft Turtle and Microsoft Pure.

Microsoft’s new smartphones are made by sharp, and look quite similar to the Sidekick for Danger, which was bought my Microsoft a couple of years ago.

Samsung Producing Phase-Change Memory

Samsung has just announced that it has started producing 512Mb PRAM (phase change random access memory). PRAM  is targeted at mobile devices such as smartphones. By using PRAM, the battery life of a handset can be extended over 20%.

HTC Tattoo coming to Vodafone UK in October

When we mentioned the new HTC Tattoo earlier this month, we knew it was going to be released in Europe next month, now UK mobile phone operator Vodafone has confirmed that it will be selling the HTC Tattoo from October.

The HTC Tattoo, features HTC’s Sense UI and is powered by Google Android, it features a 3.2 inch touchscreen display, and a 3.2 megapixel camera.

Acer F1 Smartphone

Acer had released details of their latest smartphone, the Acer F1 which will go on sale in the UK on the 6th of October.

The Acer F1 features a Qualcomm 8250 1GHz processor, and will come with Windows Mobile 6.5, it features a 3.8 inch WVGA touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 x 800, and is Quad-band GSM / Tri-band HSPA.

Asus AiGuru SV1T with Touchscreen

Asus have just released an upgrade of the Skype video phone the Asus SV1T. I’ve used one of first generation for nearly a year and a touchscreen was very much needed as you always find yourself trying to navigate via this anyway.

The Asus SV1T is equipped with pretty much the same spec as the original with a 7-inch 800 x 480 screen Skype-to-Skype support along with SkypeOut and SkypeIn.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X3 Android Smartphone Coming January

We told you about the Sony Ericsson Xperia X3 back in July, when it was leaked by an online retailer, well it looks like it wont be released until January 2010, and will come with the latest version of Google Android, 1.6.

The Sony Xperia X3 will feature a 4 inch touchscreen display, and unlike the Xperia X2, it wont come with a slide out keyboard, other specifications include an 8 megapixel camera, with 8 x digital zoom, and LED flash, image stabilization, and built in face detection software.
