LG Optimus L1 II Budget Android Handset Announced

LG has announced a new budget Android smartphone, the LG Optimus L1 II, the handset is the smallest of the Optimus II range with a 3 inch display that comes with a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels.

The LG Optimus L1 II features a 1GHz processor, 512MB of RAM and 4GB of built in storage, there is also a microSD card slot for added storage.

Ubuntu Edge Smartphone Price Cut As Funding Struggles To Meet $32 Million Target

Canonical has today announced that they are cutting the price of their new Ubuntu Edge smartphone down to $695 to try and help their struggling crowdfunding project which needs to raise $32 million by August 21st.

Currently the Ubuntu Edge smartphone project has only managed to raise just over $8.5 million dollars and the new price point is hoped that the project will get back on track.

Acer Liquid S2 Details Leaked

It looks like Acer has another new Android smartphone in the works, the Acer Liquid S2 which was revealed in a recently leaked roadmap. The handset will apparently feature a 5.98 inch full HD IPS display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.

The Acer Liquid S2 will come with a 2.3GHz processor, although there are no specific details on which processor it will use, it could well be a quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor.
