LG Optimus 3D 2 Photo And Details Revealed

We first heard about the LG Optimus 3D 2 back in January, when a render and some specifications of the device were revealed and now another photo along with some more information on the LG Optimus 3D have been revealed.

The photo below shows the new LG Optimus 3D, which is expected to be slimmer than the existing model, measuring just 9.8mm thick, and around 20g lighter.

After releasing a number of beta versions of its new Carbon Twitter Windows Phone client last year. Dot1ne has now announced the launch of its release version on to the Windows Phone Marketplace.

The Carbon Twitter app has been designed to reflect the Windows Metro styling and brings a number of features that Twitter users are sure to enjoy. Including URL shortening, image uploads, multiple accounts, Read It Later and Instapaper support, and threaded Direct Messages.

Last week LG released a teaser for a new Android smartphone, the LG Optimus VU, which LG has said will come with a 5 inch touchscreen display with a 4:3 aspect ratio.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich come with support for Bluetooth and USB peripherals, plus HDMI, so Christian Qantrell decided to see what it would be like using his Galaxy Nexus as a desktop computer.

The video below shows Christian’s Galaxy Nexus hooked up to an external monitor, and connected to an Apple keyboard and Trackpad, and he wanted to replicate desktop functions on the device without any hacking and just using normal equipment.

Now it would appear that we may have a possible date on when both of these devices will get the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update, the 1st of March.

Motorola Loses 3G/UMTS Patent Case Against Apple

Motorola and Apple have been battling it out in a German court over the last few weeks, the company tried to enforce an injunction against Apple last week, that would stop Apple selling some of its iPhone and iPad products in Germany, the device went back on sale the same day.

Motorola has a number of different lawsuits going against Apple, and a court in Germany has just thrown one of the major ones out of court saying that Apple’s doesn’t infringe on the patent.

Microsoft Stops Taking Nokia Lumia 900 Pre-orders At Stores

We recently heard that Microsoft was taking pre-orders of the new Nokia Lumia 900 in their Microsoft Stores in the US, customers were able to pre-order the device by paying a $25 deposit.

The Nokia Lumia 900 will be available from AT&T in March, and now Microsoft has stopped taking pre-orders of the device in their stores after just one week, and they haven’t explained why the have stopped taking orders.

White Samsung Galaxy Nexus Start Shipping From Some Retailers

Samsung recently announced the new white Galaxy Nexus, and the device is due to go on sale next Monday on the 13th of February, but it would appear that some online retailer have already started shipping out the device to their customers.

The white Samsung Galaxy Nexus shares the same specifications as the original Galaxy Nexus, with a 4.65 inch HD display which features a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels.

Verizon Wireless has announced that it will be releasing a range of software updates for five of its Droid devices which include smartphones and tablets, and the updates are designed to fix a number of bugs and also provide battery improvements.

The updates will be available for the Droid Bionic, the Droid Xyboard 10.1 and 8.2, the Droid RAZR Maxx and the original Droid RAZR, with some of the updates being released immediately.

HTC announced a while back that they would be releasing the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for some of their devices this year, and now HTC has confirmed on their Facebook page, that the Android 4.0 update will land in March on certain devices.

HTC has said that the update will roll out by the end of March, and the devices to get the update include the HTC Sensation, the HTC Sensation 4G, HTC Sensation XE, shortly followed by the HTC Sensation XL.

Yesterday we heard that the PIN security on Google Wallet had been cracked on rooted Android devices, and now a new security flaw has been discovered in Google wallet, although this one affects all users of Google Wallet.

The new security flaw was discovered by the guys from The Smartphone Champ, and this one seems to be a lot more easier to access, as all that has to be done is reset the data in the Google Wallet application on your Android device.

The guys over at Vodafone just dropped us an email to let us know that the Nokia Lumia 710 is now available on their network here in the UK, and it is available for free on their £20.50 a month 24 month contracts and above.

As a reminder the Nokia Lumia 710 features Windows Phone 7.5 Mango, and has a 3.7 inch WVGA multi-touch touchscreen display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, processing is provided by a single core 1.4GHz processor and it also comes with 512MB of RAM and 8GB of built in storage.

Samsung recently announced that they would not be unveiling the new Samsung Galaxy S III at Mobile World Congress later this month in Barcelona, the company said that it would be revealed at a separate event later in the year.

It looks like MWC will be a low key affair for Samsung this year as they have told PCMag hat they will not be holding a press conference a MWC, of course this doesn’t mean that we will not see some new devices from Samsung unveiled.

It would appear that Google is close to getting approval for one of the final parts of its takeover of Motorola, according to a recent report from the WSJ, the deal is close to receiving approval from the US Justice Department.

The report says that Google could receive the approval needed as early as next week, which would be one of the final parts needed for the $12.5 billion deal to go ahead.

European mobile carrier Vodafone has announced that they will be launching the first 4G LTE Android smartphone in Europe, in the form of the HTC Velocity, which is a 4G LTE enabled device that will go on sale in Germany.

The HTC Velocity is the European version of the HTC Vivid LTE, that launched in the US last year with US mobile carrier AT&T, and it will come with the same specifications.

We heard a rumor the other day about the Nokia 801, which was reported to be the last Symbian smartphone being produced by Nokia, and now there seems to be another device, the Nokia 803.

According to the BGR, the Nokia 803 will be Nokia’s final Symbian smartphone, and the devices will come with the latest version of Symbian, which Nokia released to existing devices the other day, Symbian Belle.

We heard last month that references to the iPad 3 were discovered in the iOS 5.1 beta 3 and now it would appear that we could have a possible launch date for iOS 5.1.

The news comes from the guys over at Your Daily Mac who have discovered eleven new profiles for various iPhone operators, and the files are compatible with iOS 5.1 and are set to be released on the 9th of March.

It looks like Google Wallet’s PIN security has been cracked on rooted devices, although if your Android device is not rooted then the security on the Google Wallet Pin seems to be fine.

The PIN for Google Wallet is stored encrypted on your Android devices, and a method has been discovered to reveal the SHA256 hex encoded PIN information, which enables the PIN to be discovered, the crack was discovered by the guys from Zvelo.

The Motorola Motoluxe was announced recently and we heard it would be coming to the UK either at the end of february or the beginning of March and now Motorola has confirmed the device will land in the UK this month.

As a reminder the Motorola Motoluxe comes with Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread and it features a 4 inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels, processing is provided by a single core Qualcomm MSM7227A 800MHz processor

We just got an email from the guys over at Clove to lets us know that they will have the white SIM free HTC Sensation XE in stock on the 20th of February, the device went on sale in the US a while back.

The SIM free white HTC Sensation XE will be available for £408 including taxes and the handset is now available to pre-order, and it comes Android 2.3 Gingerbread an HTC’s custom UI, HTC Sensor.

We are expecting to see a number of new devices from Nokia at this years MWC 2012 which takes place in Barcelona later this month, and now it would appear Nokia intends to launch a new high end Windows Phone device.

It isn’t clear as yet what the device will actually be, it could be the rumored Nokia 910, which was reported to come with a new 12 megapixel camera, although Nokia’s Damian Dinning, head of Nokia’s imaging experience team, has denied that a Nokia device with a 12 megapixel camera is in the works.

Google recently launched Chrome beta for Android, and it doesn’t have support for Adobe’s Flash, which should come as no surprise as Adobe announced last year that they would no longer be developing Flash for mobile devices.

LG Miracle Windows Phone Smartphone Leaked

It looks like LG has another Windows Phone smartphone in the works, the device will come with Windows Phone 7.5 and is codenamed the LG Miracle, and it features a 4 inch WVGA multi-touch display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels.

It looks like the 4 inch display on the LG Miracle will be one of LG’s NOVA display, and the handset will be powered by a single core 1GHz Snapdragon processor.

Nokia has announced that they have started rolling out the Nokia Belle update to their latest Nokia Symbian smartphones, and the update is being released for a number of devices today.

It looks like we may have some information on a new Symbian Belle smartphone from Nokia, the Nokia 801, which you can see in the photo below, and the device is reported to come with a 4 inch AMOLED ClearBlack multi-touch display.

Other rumored specifications include a 640 x 360 resolution display, a 1.4GHz processor with 512MB of RAM and a 12 megapixel camera with a dual LED flash that can record full high definition video in 1080p.

Yesterday Nokia announced that they would be launching a white Nokia Lumia 800, with the announcement of the new Nokia Lumia 800, Nokia posted some photos of the device to their Facebook page.

It would appear that someone at Nokia made a mistake, and instead of posting photos of the white Nokia Lumia 800, the photos were actually of a white Nokia Lumia 900 which has yet to be announced.

Earlier today we heard about the new Android 4.0.4 update for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, the update is available as a download for Verizon wireless although it hasn’t been released as an OTA update as yet.

Now we have some information about the next version of Ice Cream Sandwich, Android 4.0.5, which according to details revealed by SFR will be coming to the Galaxy Nexus in March.

Samsung recently announced the Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus, a new budget Android smartphone which is due to land in the UK shortly, and now it looks like the handset will retail for $249.99 SIM free.

One UK retailer has the Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus up for pre-order for £249.99 SIM free, although they haven’t as yet listed an actual launch date.

Sony Files Trademark For Xperia Sola Smartphone

We are expecting to see a couple of new Xperia smartphones from Sony at MWC 2012 later this month, we have already seen some leaked devices like the Sony Xperia U, as well as the new Sony Xperia S which was recently announced by Sony.

Sony Ericsson has announced a limited edition of its Xperia Active Android smartphone, the Sony Ericsson Xperia Active Billabong edition, which will be released as a limited edition.

Hardware wise the Sony Ericsson Xperia Active Billabong edition is the same as the original smartphone, it will come with a 3 inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels.

We just heard that Nokia is releasing the white Lumia 800, and now Samsung has announced that the white Galaxy Nexus will go on sale in the UK on the 13th of February.

The white Samsung Galaxy Nexus comes with the same specifications as the existing model, which include a 4.65 inch HD Super AMOLED multi-touch touchscreen display, with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, and an advanced 5 megapixel camera.

Nokia Lumia 800 White Windows Phone Announced

Nokia has announced that they will be releasing a new white version of the Nokia Lumia 800 Windows Phone smartphone, the device has been available in black, cyan and magenta since it was released last year.

The Nokia Lumia 800 white features the same hardware specifications as the previous versions, which include a 3.7 inch AMOLED ClearBlack touchscreen display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, and it comes with Windows 7.5 Mango, and a single core 1.4GHz processor.

US Army To Get Secure Android Smartphones

The US military and government agencies will be getting some new Android smartphones, the devices will run a modified version of Google’s Android OS, which offer a range of security features.

The devices will be handed out to US soldiers initially, with the first handsets being released in March, and then other government agencies like the FBI and other law enforcement agencies will also receive the secure Android devices.

Samsung Galaxy S III To Launch In April?

We already know that Samsung will not launch the Galaxy S III at MWC 2012 which takes place in Barcelona later this month, and we have heard that we may have to wait until around the summer of the third generation Galaxy S smartphone.

Now according to Eldar Murtzain, the Samsung Galaxy S III will launch in April, although it isn’t clear whether this is the time it will be announced or when it will actually go on sale.

It looks like the latest version of Android Ice Cream Sandwich for the Verizon Galaxy Nexus has been leaked, the update is Android 4.0.4 and it is the official update from Verizon.

Verizon hasn’t as yet started rolling out the update over the air, although the Android 4.0.4 update for the Galaxy Nexus is available to download online.

The new Samsung Galaxy S Advance was announced recently, we have already seen a hands on video of the Samsung Galaxy S Advance and now we have some photos of the device.

The Samsung Galaxy S Advance is due to go on sale in the UK and Europe later this month, and the device features a 4 inch WVGA Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels and it will come with Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
