Phillips has this week launched a new iPhone/iPod speaker dock in the form of the Philips DS6100. Which has been designed with desktop machines in mind and in particular the Apple iMac, as it sits neatly along the length just underneath the screen.

iPad owners looking to add a little live TV to their Apple tablet might be interested in this new TV tuner which has been unveiled and lunched by Logitec called the LDT-1Si01.

The new iOS LDT-1Si01 tuner will be arriving in Japan later this month and lets you view One-seg satellite programming on the iPad and iPod. Unfortunately at the moment it doesn’t support Apple’s latest and greatest iPhone 4S.

Mass Effect Infiltrator Game Arriving On iOS Devices

To accompany the launch of the new Mass Effect 3 game shortly to be launching on March 12th for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. BioWare has revealed that a new iOS game will be launching alongside and will enables gamers to play a storyline alongside the main Mass Effect 3 game.

Within the iOS Mass Effect Infiltrator arriving on iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, actions affect the larger Mass Effect 3 storyline, and weapons unlocked in the mobile version can be used in Mass Effect 3. But EA has confirmed that you do not need to get Mass Effect Infiltrator to get Mass Effect 3′s best ending.

Apple’s Siri was launched with the iPhone 4S last October, and it looks like Siri now makes up around 25 percent of all the searches performed on Wolfram Alpha.

When you ask Siri a question, depending on what type of question you ask it, many of the answers will come from Wolfram Alpha, if you ask Siri the time, you will get an answer direct from Siri, but if you ask it a more complex question then Wolfram Alpha will provide the answer.

iBamboo Urban Speaker Dock Now Created In Recycled Plastic

Back in June last year we featured a new iBamboo speaker dock which was constructed from.. you guessed it Bamboo. Now Anatoliy Omelchenko of Triangle Tree the manufactures and designers of the original iBamboo speaker dock have unveiled a new line of speaker docks called the Urban which are created from recycled plastic.

The new iBamboo Urban speaker dock has been created after custom feedback, and requests for a products that was a little more robust that the original iBamboo. Triangle Tree is currently in the process of sourcing manufactures to produce their new iBamboo Urban speaker dock, which will be available in both clear and solid colour versions for around $29.

Last week Apple released their latest financial results, and they also announced how many iPhone’s they sold in the last quarter of 2011 which covers the period from the 14th of October to the 31st of December.

Apple announced that they had sold a total of 37.04 million iPhones in the last quarter of 2012, although they didn’t provide a breakdown by model, the company sells three different models, the iPhone 3GS, the iPhone 4 and the iPhone 4S.

Should check out a new application called SiriToggles which has been designed for the iPhone 4S and will allow users to adjust settings and launch applications via voice commands.

iOS developer Hamza Sood’s tweak, called SiriToggles has been designed to plug some of the gaps which many iPhone users feel have been left out by Apple in the current beta version of its Siri personal voice assistant, installed on standard iPhone 4S smartphones.

We heard recently that the iPhone Dev Team were getting ready to release an untethered jailbreak for the iPhone 4S and the iPad 2, and now pod2g and the Chronic Dev Team have released a new untethered iPhone 4S and iPad 2 jailbreak, called Absinthe A5.

Absinthe A5 is based on the the Greenpoison jailbreak tool and it is currently only available for the Mac, there will also be Linux and Windows versions released as well.

The other day we heard that Namco Bandai would be releasing Soul Calibur for Apple’s iOS devices, which include the iPhone and iPad, the games is now available from the iTunes app store at $11.99, this is apparently a launch discount price which will be increased to $14.99.

Soul Calibur was originally released as an arcade machine back in 1988 and it has also be available on consoles including the Sega Dreamcast and Xbox 360.

As well as unveiling their new iBooks 2 and iBooks Author Apple has also launched an app of its iTunes U service for the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch, and the application is designed to work in the same way that iTunes U does on the Mac or PC.

The iTunes U application provides students with educational content from top universities, and it gives them access to complete course materials, and this information is now available through the app on Apple’s range of iOS devices.

Namco Bandai have announced that they will be releasing Soul Calibur for Apple’s iOS devices on the 19th of January 2012, and the game will be compatible with the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S, iPod Touch 4G and the iPad 2.

Nissan is better know for making cars than it is for making smartphone accessories, but the company has announced that it will be introducing a new range of self repairing iPhone cases called the Nissan Scratch Shield iPhone cases.

According to the announcement, the iPhone case uses special paint technology that is capable of repairing itself which Nissan calls self healing paint, and this paint is already used in a number of Nissan vehicles.

As for the principal photographer, it’s the Martian rover called Opportunity. After almost eight years of being in-planet it has amassed quite an incredible library of pics. No kidding. The really cool part is a NASA developer has created an iPhone/Android app for viewing the wealth of media.

Following on from iCades unveiling of their new iPhone gaming cradle earlier this week, more specifications have been released and a few detailed images to provide a better feel for what the iCade Mobile will provide users when launched.

The iCade Mobile gaming cradle will support around 100 games when it launches in May 2012 and will support Apple’s iPhone 4, 4S or iPod Touch. Providing each device with gaming buttons and D-pad controller.

The iPhone Dev Team recently released an untethered jailbreak for Apple’s A4 based devices, and they have been working on the same jailbreak for Apple’s A5 processor based devices, which include the iPhone 4S and the iPad 2.

Now it would appear that they are getting closer to the release of the untethered jailbreak for the iPhone 4S and the iPad 2, and it could be released shortly.

Shazam Player App Launches, Aiming To Replace iOS Music Player (Video)

Shazam the popular music tagging application creator which has enjoyed more than 165 million users since its launch back in 2008. Has this week launched a new iOS application called Shazam Player. Which has been created to replace the existing Apple music player on iPhones and iPod Touch devices.

A new iPhone holder called the Mounty Mount will shortly be appearing on the Kickstarter website, trying to make the jump from concept to production, which has been designed by mechanical engineers Kevin and Eleanor.

The Mounty Mount was originally designed for bicycle handlebars, but the designers soon realised that the mount would be useful on motorcycles, scooters or strollers, and would be easy to fit to any crossbar style location with its tool-free attachment mechanism.

Apple Releases iOS 5.1 Beta 3 To Developers

Apple has released the latest version of iOS to developers, iOS 5.1 Beta 3, which should mean that we are getting closer to the general release of iOS 5.1 which will hopefully fix the battery problems that a number of iPhone users have been experiencing.

It looks like iOS 5.1 Beta 3 has restored the toggle switch which allows you to turn of and on the 3G cellular data access, and also it comes with a new API that will allow app developers to flag content in their apps that doesn’t need to be backed up.

iPhone Gets Android Style Face Unlock Port (Video)

The latest version of Google’s mobile OS, Android Ice Cream Sandwich comes with a face unlock feature, which is available on the new Samsung Galaxy Nexus, and now one developer has installed a similar feature on Apple’s iPhone.

The video below shows the face unlock feature running on an iPhone, and it isn’t clear whether this is an actual port of the Android software or something which has been developed from scratch.

Oregon Scientific has unveiled a new wireless charging station this week, aptly named the Oregon Scientific Time and Wireless Charging Station+. Enabling you to simply charge your smartphone without the need to plug it in, after you have fitted it in a compatible case.

Currently the charge only has cases to support Apple’s iPhone 4, 3GS and 3G smartphones. But its hope Android version will also be made available for the more popular smartphones very soon.

According to a recent report, owners of Apple’s new iPhone 4S smartphone use almost twice as much data as iPhone 4 owners and almost three times as much data as iPhone 3G owners.

It would appear that it is Apple’s voice activated virtual assistant, Siri that is causing owners of the iPhone 4S to use more data than other iPhone devices, according to Michael Flanagan from Arieso.

If you are a fan of the Smart Cover which was released by Apple to compliment the iPad 2 when it was launched. You might be interested in this neat TidyTilt cover for your iPhone. Which tries to provide the same sort of features the Smart Cover case brings to the iPad 2 on your iPhone.

The TidyTilt attaches to your iPhone also using magnets but you need to attach a metal strip around the edge of your iPhone first. PostSecret Removes iPhone App From The App Store Due To Threatening Content

PostSecret has removed their iPhone app from Apple’s App Store, after some users of the application decided to post threatening and abusive content using the application.

This has left the developers of the app with the only option or removing the app, as they were unable to moderate all the content posted by the application due to the sheer volume of content submitted, the statement below from Ron Warren, the founder of Post Secret explains why the app was removed.
