The Amazon Kindle for Macs will work with Mac OS X 1.5 and above and it lets you read your Amazon books on your Mac and also sync them with other devices like the iPhone.

Amazon has also announced that it will be releasing a version of their Amazon Kindle application for the Apple iPad, although the existing iPhone App would work on the iPad an optimized one would be much better.

It will be interesting to see how Apple deals with the Amazon iPad applications, which would compete directly with Apple’s iBook’s on the iPad. You can download the Amazon Kindle for Mac application for free from Amazon.

Designer Umang Dokey has come up with an interesting concept for a Windows Phone 7 based tablet, as you can see from the video it features an 8 inch screen and a couple of scrolling joysticks that are designed for gaming and navigation.

If Microsoft do release a tablet based on their Windows Phone 7 OS, lets hope it looks as good as this one, it certainly does look like an interesting concept.

The Handgun USB Drive comes with 4GB of storage and is USB 2.0 compatible, it will work with Windows 7, Vista, XP and Mac OS and it measures 75mm by 54mm and 12mm.

If you want one, the Handgun USB drive is available for $22 from USB Geek, although we wouldn’t recommend taking it with you on your next business trip as you might end up in trouble with airport security.

The i-Got-Control is compatible with the iPhone, iPod Touch, and apparently Apple’s new iPad, it comes with 40,000 IR codes for different consumer electronic devices pre-programmed and an application that is available to download from iTunes.

“i-Got-Control empowers users to operate A/V devices, as well as many other pieces of IR equipment, including lighting and HVAC systems, no matter where they are,” said Doug Schwartz, president of i-Got-it.com. “It also features an extensive built-in IR library, which means that — unlike most remote controls and other similar products in the marketplace — i-Got-Control does not require ‘learning,’ making it simple and easy to set up and use.”

Once the scanning has been done you can access a range of information regarding than make and model of car and also read reviews of it.

You can also check what cars of the same model are available for sale in your area, and also access peformance data, and pricing information. This could come in quite handy if you spot an exotic sports car you want to buy.

You can save all you scanned cars in the application in a garage feature, for you to refer back to at a later date. The application is available as a free download from the UK iTunes store.

The LifeCam HD-6000 is designed to be used with your notebook or netbook and it can capture video in HD at 720P, has built in auto focus and a swivel design that lets you rotate the camera 360 degrees.

The LifeCam HD-5000 will retail for $49.99 and it is available now, whilst the HD-5001 will be available later this month for the same $49.99 and the HD-6000 will go on sale for $59.99.

The iLuv App Station iPhone Dock is designed to be used with the iPhone  and iPod Touch, and it comes with a free iPhone application  that turns your iPhone into an alarm clock when it is placed in the dock.

The application will display the time and date, and work like a fully functional alarm clock, it also has a range of built in features which show you the weather forecast and temperature.

What they did manage to do was change Geeky Gadgets title in Google, if you type ‘Geeky Gadgets’ into Google you will see that our site title has been changed to something different.

Luckily our team managed to spot the hacking attempt before it was to late, and no real damage was done to the site (except for the new title in Google). We have taken extra security measures to make sure this doesn’t happen again.

Last December Google tried to register the name of its new phone “Nexus One” but the registration failed and the existing owner of the word “nexus”- one Integra Telecom – was awarded possession.

Google is likely to appeal on the basis that has never been involved with the oil industry. But wouldn’t it have been easier to do this before the launch of its phone?

Well, it may not stop there either for Google, it still hasn’t secured the Android name either. Supposedly treading on the toes of aspirational robots, Google is still involved in a claim and counterclaim situation from registrant Erich Specht. Mr. Specht’s claim continues to be the subject of a civil action.

The Spring Design Alex is available to order for $399 from Spring Design, and you will be able to pre-order one later today and it will ship in the middle of April.

The Alex eReader is a dual screen device, it features a 6 inch E-Ink EPD display and a 3.5 inch color LCD display, and it runs on Google’s Android OS.

It measures 4.7 inches by 8.9 inches and is about half an inch thick, with a weight of about 11 ounces. The Alex eReader connects to Google’s bookstore and users have access to over one million books.

It also features support for some Google Android applications, and it features a built in web browser and a WiFi connection. It certainly does look like one of the more interesting e-readers that we have seen.

The Cabestan Nostromo is constructed mainly from titanium and the case is coated with a superluminova phosphorescent paint which reveals a subtle yellow green light that flows around the wheels bridges, drums and drive shafts when in lowlight.

The open design of the watch allows for the viewing of the vertical mechanics from both the front and the back, including the drive shaft which is used to transmit the required energy to power the movements.

However this watch and it’s amazing and unique design doesn’t come cheap. If you’re interested it’s available to purchase for 150,000 Swiss Francs around $141,400.

The Coffee Inhaler is a small device about the size of a shotgun shell, and each one contains 100mg of caffeine, which according to the manufacturer is about the same caffeine as in a cup of espresso.

If you want one, the Coffee Inhaler is available for $3 or $8 for a box of three from Le Whif. I think I may have to get a few of these as it might wake me up a bit quicker in the mornings.

I’m also not 100% sure that the combination of a web cam and vacuum cleaning is the best idea. The Packard Bell Studio ST feature a HDMI connection so you can hook it up to your HDTV and playback HD videos, and it also features built in Dolby Digital decoding.

There is also a USB port so you can also playback files from a USB drive. The Packard Bell Studio ST will be available in a range of different sizes from 500GB to 2TB.

It will be available in Europe initially, there are no details on pricing and no details on when it will go on sale in the US.

The recycled steel Optimus Prime stands 2.5 meters tall, not quite as big as the original, and he was made from over 5,000 unique parts and he weighs in at a massive 550kg.

The parts used to create this cool Optimus Prime include car, boat, motorbike parts as well as some parts from a dishwasher and a television, plus a load of recycled steel.

You can actually buy this Recycled Steel Optimus  Prime for 5,500 Euros, about $7,500 from Robo Steel , we have no idea how much the shipping costs but it probably costs as much as the robot.

It certainly seems like a clever idea, maybe car manufacturers should think about building something like this into car seatbelts, it could end up coming in handy if you are ever in an accident.

According to KDDI the aim of the tracking system is to enable employees to work more efficiently and managers to easily evaluate their employees’ performance while away from the office. KDDI already has a Japanese employment agency interested in deploying the new technology. It will be interesting to see how any privacy issues related to this mobile phone will be handled by employers.

The system is very easy to learn say the manufactures and within only 10-15 mins you can be controlling your PC. Unforutunately theres no launch date as yet but the system will be available to buy for around $12,250 shortly.
