Counter Strike Map Recreates The Office From The TV Series (video)

Counter Strike fans of the TV series The Office by NBC, might enjoy playing this new Counter Strike Source map which has been created, modelling the Dunder Mifflin paper mill offices from the comic TV series.

The map builder has been creating the CSS map on an off since 2009 and has done a fine job, creating The Office in all its glory. Spending over 500 hours building each section in detail, see the results in the video after the jump.

Awesome Fully Automated Lego Brick Sorting Plant (video)

Any Lego master builders out there that have a large amount of Lego bricks they need to sort. Might be interested in this fantastic Lego sorting plant which has been created to demonstrate a factories manufacturing execution system.

The Lego builders over at BrickIt work commissioned by the Dynaway company to build the miniature sorting plant. Which has been constructed using around 37,500 Lego bricks together with 28 motors, 22 sensors including touch, colour and ultrasonic, together with 7 Lego Mindstorm NXT controller bricks. Adafruit the open source hardware manufacturer has this week unveiled a new product to its line of products in the form of the Adafruit Flora a new wearable electronics platform.

Are you looking for a more original speaker system? If you are and have a little spare time this weekend you, might like to create your very own Toolbox BoomBox, which has been designed and built by Floyd Davis IV.

Floyd explained that he has equipped his Toolbox Boombox with a Pyle Pro stereo amplifier, together with speakers bought second hand from a thrift shop. The speakers are mounted onto a plywood sheet which has then been mounted in to the toolbox with the amplifier. Check out the video after the jump to see the making of the Toolbox Boombox.

YouTube user and Assassins Creed fan Angelegend has published a video showing his DIY Assassins Creed arm blade. Which has been crested using a sliding drawer bracket together with a couple of special modifications which allow the blade to lock into place once it’s been revealed.

Building a replica gun from a computer game is hard enough in itself, without building it using just paper alone. However Gears Of War fan Leo Firebrand has used his paper crafting skills to create a replica of a pistol from the Gears Of War game.

The Gears Of War pistol is not the first paper craft creation Leo has constructed, and follows on from his earlier creation. Which was a laser pistol from the popular Fallout 3 game.

Powered by an 800 Watt electric engine and guided via a Kinect sensor that tracks hand movements, the Board of Awesomeness is a novelty one off from Chaotic Moon. They’re an app-building company who want to demonstrate their mobile-focus with, well, a mobile platform. The all-terrain wheels are a nice touch.

Because adapting video games into Monopoly hasn’t lost any steam, last year’s biggest fantasy outing has received much love from deviantArt user ~oddeh. The end result is a 20×20 Monopoly game that is ready for printing. An overwhelming reception has compelled dear ~oddeh to produce accompanying cards and coins. According to the desciption, this Skyrimed Monopoly board is printer ready though not a part of official Skyrim merch nor is it Monopoly licensed. Still, it’s a fine piece of work. Bravo! (*gives round of applause.)

Turns out there was a music festival in Japan recently and one of the participants is this dude named cTrix, who performed with his gAtari. That’s him pictured below wielding the beast. Take note of his facial expression–it’s a mix of awe and wonder as he grasps the mighty…thing in his feeble hands. It’s a heavily modded (emphasis on ‘heavily’) Atari console impregnated with effects pedals and other devices. The resulting instrument can reduce the unworthy to cinders via its sheer musical/visceral mind-exploding aural madness.

Modder Dean Liou has unveiled his latest creation using a Lenovo ThinkPad X1 laptop to create the fantastic Lenovo ArcadeDockX1 Mod. The arcade cabinet uses the 15 inch screen of the Lenovo X1 as the gaming display and the controls are connected via USB.

If you enjoy a little papercraft you might enjoy constructing these Nike Air Jordans which can be made using a pizza box style packaging. The box has been designed to hold and be sold with the new “XIV Blueprint” t-shirt that will be arriving in the spring of 2012.

The packaging resembles the pattern that is printed on the t-shirt, but allows you to pop out the pieces to construct your very own. Unfortunately its only a scale model and cant actually be worn unless you have very small feet.

If you have a Samsung Series 7 Slate tablet gathering dust in your home or office, or you would simply prefer to try a slightly different OS on it rather than the intended Windows 7. You might be interested to know that a developer has now been able to install and run OS X Lion on his.

The installation of the OS X Lion operating system on the Samsung Series 7 Slate was completed using a Lion UniBeast USB KEY Install method and does still have a few things which still need to be ironed out. Currently the Samsung Series 7 Slate does need to be connected to an external monitor, but is showing some great potential says the developer. Nuclear Taco Sensor Helmet Gameshow (video)

A team at altLab in Lisbon have used a number of sensors and a little Arduino wizardry to create a very unique kind of hat which is capable of measuring the discomfort level you are currently under, whilst eating taco’s.

The helmet measures your discomfort by measuring your perspiration, temperature, and the rate at which you drink down fire quenching liquid provided by the two helmet-mounted bottles filled with a mix of water and yogurt. Watch the video after the jump to see it in action.

Lego Figure Inner Anatomy Revealed

If you have ever wondered what the inside a Lego figure looks like, artist Jason Freeny has created his interpretation of what it may be. Freeny has taken a 7.5″ Lego figure dissected it and put it on show for all to see.

As Freeny was creating the sculpture he constantly updated his Facebook page as each stage was completed and allows you to see the work that went into creating it.

What could be cooler than Stormtroopers, how about some carbon fiber Stormstroopers, which were created by Leonard Carson, an engineering technician from San Diego Composites, who thought it would be a cool idea to create some create some Stormtrooper costumes out of carbon fiber.

Although Lenoard Carson doesn’t say how much the carbon fiber costumes cost to make, he does say that if they had worked out the costs before hand they wouldn’t have made them, so we suspect they were pretty expensive.

A new USB device has been unveiled today by SparkFun called the Electric Sheep which has been deigned to provide Android developers with an easier route to create Android apps and accessories using Android open accessory protocol.

The new Electric Sheep board created by SparkFun is based on the ATMega2560 micro-controller and bootloader and features a USB-host connector for quick connection to Android devices. Allowing the creation of accessories for Android using the Arduino IDEA and HandBag.

Also, it’s a very dangerous tool that no one in their right mind should use indoors. Then again, no one in their right mind would put in the time to build a flame pistol unless they live in the post-apocalyptic wastes of the Fallout universe. As a marvel of human ingenuity though, it’s real impressive.

Thankfully it’s just a concept. Short of riding a block of ice on two wheels, the Moto Undone is a bizarre take on camouflage ingenuity. It’s a 1,000w electric motorcycle whose body is covered in shiny chrome. The effect is, from a distance, the rider looks like he/she is floating in mid air. An awesome sight until an accident happens. Doesn’t seem to bother the guy in the picture though.
