These new LCD displays have a number of interesting features, including a reflective mode which switches off the screen backlight and changes the colors to gray scale, giving it a look similar to e-ink displays.

The main benefits of these new screens is increased battery life. Pixel QI are releasing a kit for 10.1 inch netbooks that will let you replace your netbook screen with one of these new displays.

The kit is intended to make it easy to change the screen, with all you having to do is remove six screws, pull off a bezel, remove the old LCD display and replace it with this one.

These new Pixel QI DIY netbook screens will be available in Q2 of 2010, there is no word on pricing as yet.

The Aiptek PocketCinema Z20 Pocket Projector weighs just 250 grams and it measures 125mm by 62mm by 24 mm, it features a built in rechargeable Li-ion battery which will give you around 120 minutes of video playback.

As well as being able to display an image up to 65 inches at a distance of two meters, the Aiptek PocketCinema Z20 Pocket Projector can also record video in HD and a 720p resolution with the built in camera, and it can also take still photos with its eight megapixel sensor.

The Aiptek PocketCinema Z20 Pocket Projector comes with 2GB of storage built in and there is also a microSD card slot which can take up to 32GB microSD cards.

There is also a three in one AV jack, and HDMI out so you can hook it up to your HDTV. There are no details as yet on when we are likely to see the Aiptek PocketCinema Z20 Pocket Projector in the stores or how much it will cost.

The COOL LEAF keyboards and input devices have no physical keys and use a backlight mirror surfaces with a special film, electrostatic capacity type touch panel with touch force sensors below to recognise input signals.

The COOL LEAF devices apart from looking fantastic are also a lot easier to keep clean that traditional keyboards.

Minebea is looking to continue its development of the COOL LEAF technology and hopes to develop production versions for digital devices, telecommunication equipment, housing equipment, and medical equipment.

The Acer K11 Pico Projector features a 858 x 600 resolution, and a 200 brightness of 200 lumen’s and is designed to have a 20,000 hour lamp life, and a contrast ration of 2,000:1.

Connection wise there is one HDMI, VGA and composite, a USB port port and an SDHC card reader so you can display videos and photos directly from an SDHC card.

There are no details on when we will see the Acer K11 Pico Projector in the stores, although it is expected to retail for around 500 Euros, about $685.

TiVo Premiere is available in two versions the Premiere with a 320GB of storage, capable of saving upto 45 hours of HD veiwing priced at $300 and the Premiere XL with a huge 1TB or 150 hours of HD storage for $500. There’s also a monthly subscription fee of $12.95 for the service.

Both models have Tivo’s new widescreen interface and Ethernet internet connections to allow users to view web content. The new web software includes ‘Swivel Search’, which provides an online database of  movie and TV information. Search for an actor, director, film or TV show and you’ll be shown online viewing options, including Netflix, Blockbuster on Demand, Amazon on Demand

Tivo’s new remote to complement their new service is identical in shape to the existing ’peanut’ shaped remote but slides to reveal a full QWERTY keyboad. The downside though is that it isnt bluetooth and requires a USB dongle to be plugged into either a TiVo Series3, TiVo HD, or TiVo Premiere box.

The TiVo Premiere QWERTY Remote will be available later this year but not prices have been released as yet. Check out TiVo’s website for more information.

First up is the Acer H5360 which features a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution, meaning it can display HD video in 720p. It features an illumination of up to 2500 ANSI lumen’s and a 3200:1 contrast ratio.

The Acer H5360 features one HDMI port, three RCA jacks, component video, S-video mini DIN, a 2.5mm audio mini jack and a 15 pin D-Dub connection so you can hook it up to a PC.

Next up is the Acer X1261 which features a native XGA resolution and a 4:3 aspect ratio, with an illumination of up to 2500 ANSI lumen’s, a  3700:1 contrast ratio and a vertical refresh rate of 50-120Hz.

The Acer X1261 can also be adjusted to a 16:9 aspect ratio for video content and it comes with a range of inputs which include composite video, S-video mini DIN, and a stereo mini audio jack.

Both of these new projectors are available now, with the Acer X1261 retailing for $579, whilst the Acer H5360 will retail for $699.

There will be quite a few different models available, in the LED range there will be a 22 inch, 32 inch, 42 inch and 55 inch HDTV available, whilst there will be two different sizes available in the LED range which include a 40 inch and 46 inch HDTV.

Specifications wise, the smaller models in the LCD  will only be capable of 720p HD and will feature a 60Hz refresh rate, and 8000:1 dynamic and 3000:1 native contrast, with 1 HDMI port whilst the larger models with be capable of Full HD in 1080p with a240Hz refresh rate and an 0,000:1 dynamic and 4000:1 native contrast, these models will feature four HDMI ports.

The models in the LED range will feature Full HD in 1080p, and will come with  a e,000,000:1 dynamic and 5000:1 static contrast.

Price start at just $339 in the LCD range up to $1,989, whilst the 40 inch LED HDTV will retail for $1,699 and the 46 inch LED will retail for $1,989.

The LG W86L features a contrast ratio of 2,000,00:1 and a 2ms response time. There are two HDMI ports, which means you can hook it up to your Xbox 360 or PS3, there is also a D-Sub port and a DVI-D, plus a headphone out jack.

As the W2486L is LED backlit, this makes the monitor pretty thin, measuring just 20.5mm at its thickest point. It will also use less power than standard LCD monitors.

Design wise the W2486L is very nice, it features a sleek and stylish design that would look great in any geeks office or apartment, and it features a nice gloss black exterior, and the stand features some red accents which give it a nice look.

On the front of the monitor there are a range of various control key and a power button, all of which are touch sensitive, this is a nice feature and adds to the sleek design.

The LG W2486lL is designed as a gaming monitor, and we tested in on one of our PCs with a variety of different games using the DVI connection and it performed very well. The colors are bright and the picture is clear and sharp.

We also tested it with a HD movie on our PC and this also looked great on the monitor, again the colors were bright and the picture was crystal clear and sharp.

Having two HDMI ports also means that you can use the LGw2486L with a range of games consoles, and we tested the monitor with our Xbox 360, which looks great on it, and if you are looking for a monitor to use solely with a gaming console I would definitely recommend the LG W2486L.

Conclusion

The only downside to the monitor is the combination of the the black glossy finish, and the touch sensitive controls which means that it shows up finger marks pretty easily when you use the menu, although this is a small price to pay for the picture quality.

Overall the LG W2486L is a great gaming monitor, it is incredibly thin, and the design is very nice. The colors are sharp and the picture is clear and crisp, and HD content looks great on it. If you are looking for a gaming monitor, with a HD resolution then I would definitely recommend you check out the LG W2496L.

Pricing on the LG W2486L is pretty reasonable, we found it available on a number of US retailers including Amazon for around $330, whilst in the UK we found it available for around £245.

The 15″ OLED LG 15EL9500t has a 10.000.000:1 contrast ratio, HD ready resolution 1366×768 Pixel and a response time from 0,001ms.

LG also plans to launch the OLED TV in the US during the summer of 2010, but there have been no firm dates given to when the OLED displays will be launched in the rest of Europe.

Dont expect them to be cheap though the lauch price is 1,999 Euros approx £1812 or $2706.

The new range of HDTV’s will enable users to use Skype’s video chat in their living room, as well as make calls over the Skype service. Two models are being released initially the Samsung LED 7000 and LED 8000.

The built in Skype software is controlled by the HDTV’s remote controll, and users will be able to use this to log into their accounts and use the Skype service the same way they do on their computers.

To use the service you will have to purchase a compatible web camera, you would have though Samsung would have integrated these into the TVs or at least included them in the package.

There are no details on when these new Skype enabled Samsung HDTV’s are likely to hit the stores and no word on pricing as yet.

The three models available will be the Samsung C7000, C8000 and C9000, and the smallest model in the range will be a 40 inch 3D LED HDTV.

All of these 3D LED HDTV’s will feature a built in Ethernet connection and will also be ‘Wireless Ready’, we presume you will have to buy an additional wireless adapter for this via USB.

Samsung will also be releasing some 3D Plasma models as well as a range of 3D Blu-ray players, there are no details on pricing as yet.

The new televisions have an upgraded voice system and include light sensors which automatically adjusts brightness and energy efficiency helping to save up to 60% of the monitors power consumption.

These new 3D Plasma HDTV’s features a contrast ratio of 5,000,000:1 and they have a digital and an analogue tuner built in, plus a 2.1 channel 20w speaker system.

Other features include four HDMI ports, component, VGA and an Ethernet port. Both models in the range will come with 3D active shutter glasses which us batteries to quickly block out each of the lenses alternatively.

The Panasonic VIERA VT 3D Plasma HDTV’s will go on sale in Japan in April, with the 54 inch model retailing for $5,900 and the 50 inch model retailing for $4,800.

There are no details as yet on when we are likely to see them arrive in the US and Europe.

The BenQ V2220 features a 21.5 inch LED display, and measures just 15mm thick, and it features a contrast ratio 10,000,00:1. BenQ have also launched another model, the V920 which is an 18.5 inch LED display and is even thinner measuring in at just 14mm.

Other specifications include a 1920 x 1080 resolution on the V2220 and a 1366 x 768 resolution on the V920, and both models are available with HDMI and headphones connections.

There are no details on pricing or exact availability as yet, but they are expect to go on sale in Taiwan in the next couple of months, with the US and Europe some time in June.

The AAXA L1 Laser Pico Projector measures 4.2 inches long by 2.1 inches wide by 0.8 inches tall and according to the manufacturer it is the worlds first laser powered pico projector.

The AAXA L1 Laser Pico Projector is capable of projecting an image from 15 inches up to a massive 80 inches and it features a brightness of 20 ANSI-Lumens and a contrast ratio of 2000:1.

There is a built in mono 1W speaker and a mini headphone jack and it comes with 2GB of built in storage. The AAXA L1 Laser Pico Projector can play back a variety of video formats, which include AVI, MP4, WMV, ASF, MPG, as well as display a range of picture formats, JPEG, GIF, BMP, PNG.

It can also playback a range of audio files which include MP3, MP2, OGG, WAV, and display a range of document formats, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, and it comes with a VGA and composite A/V connector.

The AAXA L1 Laser Pico Projector is available now for $599 from AAXA.

According to Casio a high brightness projector is anything over 2,000 lumen’s, and the Casio Green Slim Projector has a brightness of 3,000 lumen’s.

The Casio Green Slim Projector is also, as the name suggests, slim and compact, measuring just 1.7 inches thick and it is about the size of an A4 piece of paper, and it weighs in at just 5 pounds.

Casio is thrilled to introduce this entirely new lineup of eco-friendly Super Slim projectors,” said Toshiharu Okimuro, Chairman of Casio America, Inc. “The advances we have made to provide superior brightness and energy-saving features make it the perfect tool for the road warrior, instructor, gamer and general consumer for home entertainment.”

According to Casio it has a lifespan of 20,000 hours which is apprently 10 times that of a standard projector. There are no details on what the maximum screen size it can project, although it is capable of  resolutions up to 1280 x 800.

There are no details as yet on pricing or availability.

The JVC DLA-SH7NL features a resolution of 4,096 x 2,400 which is more than four times the resolution of Full HD, it also has a contrast ratio of 10,000:1 and a 330W lamp that will pump out a massive 5,000 lumen’s.

The JVC DLA-SH7NL features D-ILA technology, which lets it display up to four separate displays in WUXGA or 1,920 x 1,200. It also has a USB port, LAN and four DVI-D interfaces.

It will be available in Japan next month for $15,000 although the price doesn’t include the lens. There are no details on when we are likely to see it in the US and Europe.

There are two models available a a 4.3 inch model and a 7 inch model, and they both have a touchscreen interface so you can control what you want on the monitors screen.

Comparing to most of secondary monitors in the market controlled by mouse and keyboard and users easily loose the focus of work when controls of tasks are moving between main and secondary monitors; FingerVU an auxiliary monitor with touch screen can work independently from main monitor and SoundGraph Inc. has developed the technology of touch control independently from the main monitor. These seem look a cool idea and could be a useful additional monitor to your setup for reading rss feed or checking out what is happening on Twitter.

The Panasonic 152 inch Plasma TV can display video at a massive resolution of 4096 x 2160, which is about double today’s current full 1080p HD resolution, and it displays a massive eight million pixels, and features a 17:9 aspect ratio.

The specifications certainly seem very impressive, but you definitely would need a big house for one of these giant plasma Tvs.

There are no details on how much the Panasonic 152 Inch 3D HDTV will cost or when Panasonic will actually start selling them, but I suspect this is going to be one of the most expensive TVs in the world.

As the name suggests, the MSI Projector PC actually has a fully working PC inside the projector, and instead of needing a monitor you just use the projected image to view the PCs display.

The MSI Projector PC can project an image of up to 60 inches, and can playback video in HD, all you need to do is add a keyboard and mouse and you have a fully functioning PC.

Inside the Projector PC there is an Intel Atom processor, NVIDIA ION graphics, plus HDMI out, LAN and four USB 2.0 ports plus a 3.5mm audio jack.

Although the MSI Projector PC is just in the concept stages, MSI have said that they expect to have it in the stores sometime later in the year, there are no details on pricing as yet.

The display used in the prototype notebook is a 14 inch transparent OLED display, and when the screen is turned off, the display is up to 40% transparent.

Samsung have said that they intend to use the technology behind this transparent OLED display in other products like MP3 players and advertisement displays, and it could end up have a number of applications.

The new ultra thin LCD TV panel is 50% thinner than LG’s previous model, and this 42 inch LCD TV panel  is capable of delivering Full HD content in 1080p (1920 x 1080).

This new LCD TV panel weighs in at just 4kg, and it uses an ultra slim, edge lit LED backlit system, and of course it is so thin it will come with a separate box which integrates the TVs tuner.

LG will be showing off their new ultra think LCD TV panel at the consumer electronics show (CES) in January of next year where they will release details on pricing and availability.

The AAXA M1 Micro Projector measures just 112mm by 105mm by 46mm and weighs in at just 13.6oz, although it is extremely compact it is still capable of projecting a screen of up to 100 inches.

The AAXA M1 micro projector is the brightest “ultra-portable” projector in its class. With its 66 lumen output the M1 projector is capable of producing high resolution images greater than 100” in dark areas and up to 40” in lighted areas.

The 3M MPro120 is pretty compact measuring just 120mm in length by 60mm wide, and just 24mm thick, it is lightweight and highly portable weighing in at just 154 grams.

In the box you get the projector, a mini tripod, an ac adapter, a cable to hook it up to the VGA port on your laptop, and a composite AV cable which will let you hook it up to a digital camera, and even your iPhone, although you will need an additional adapter for this.

First off lets take a look at the specifications, the 3M MPro120 features a native resolution of 640 x 480 (VGA), and it can project a screen size from eight inches all the way up to fifty inches, and it features a rechargeable lithium polymer battery which will give you up to four hours of usage.

The battery lives up to the manufacturers claims, on the lower brightness setting you will get up to four hours of usage and on the brighter setting it came in at just over three hours.

You can also power the projector via the AC adapter, and it will also charge at the same time, which could come in quite handy for presentations.

Picture quality with the lights on isn’t the best, although it is watchable and sort of what you would expect from such a small projector, but using the it with the lights off is a different matter, and the picture quality is impressive for such a small device.

The 3M Mpro120 features two 0.5 watt speakers, which aren’t the loudest, I would recommend adding a portable speaker to it especially for watching movies.

Conclusion

Overall the 3M MPro120 Pocket Projector is impressive, we really liked it, and were impressed by it being able to project such large images for such a small device.

If you are looking for a portable projector that is easy to carry around for presentations, and watching the occasional movie, then the 3M MPro120 will do the job, and do it pretty well for such a small device.

The 3M MPro120 Pocket Projector is available now for £299 from 3M, you can also find more details and specifications over at the 3M website.

The Samsung SPF-800P features an 8 inch LED backlit display with a resolution of 800 x 400, it features and easy to use UI 2.0, plus 2GB of built in memory.

On top of that the Samsung SPF-800P comes with a microSD card slot, plus a  Bluetooth 2.0 connection, and it can playback both audio and video files as well as displaying your favourite photos.

The Samsung SPF-800P will be available in Korea initially for about $171, there are no details on pricing as yet and no information on when it will be available in the US and Europe.

The new Full HD 3D LCD Monitor will feature a 23 inch LCD display, and it will be used in conjunction with shutter glasses to deliver Full HD pictures in 3D.

The Asus Designo LS246H LCD Monitor features a 23.6 inch LCD display, with a resolution of 1920 x 1080, and 16.7 million colors, plus it also features a touch sensitive control dial for adjusting the settings.

Connections come in the form of HDMI and VGA, and as you can see from the photo, the usual monitor stand has been swapped for a stainless steel ring, it also comes with a built in 3.5mm audio jack.

There are not details as yet on pricing for the Asus Designo LS246H LCD Monitor, or when it is likely to go on sale.

Amazing, I think I will have to start saving up to get one of these for the Geeky Gadgets office, mind you it could take some time as each one costs a whopping $6,499.
