Samsung has added a new monitor to their range, the Samsung SyncMaster P2770HD Monitor.

The Samsung SyncMaster P2770HD Monitor features a 27 inch display, and comes with a host of features which include a built in TV tuner, plus a HDMI connection and support for full HD in 1080p.

The Samsung SyncMaster P2770HD Monitor has a resolution of 1920 x 1080, it also features a 4ms response time and a 50,000:1 contrast ratio, plus a pair of built in 3W speakers.

The Samsung SyncMaster P2770HD Monitor will go on sale in Korea for about $475, there are no details on when we will see it in the US and Europe.

Bang & Olfusen has added a new LCD TV to its BeoVison 7 range, the Beovison 7-55, as will all Bang & Olufsen TVs it isn’t cheap.

The Bang & Olfusen BeoVison 7-55 features a 55 inch display, and it is based on LED backlit technology, it has a range of state of the art features that are designed deliver a smooth picture and features a built in surround sound module.

BeoVision 7-55 integrates the sophisticated Bang & Olufsen BeoSystem 3 video engine, which delivers superior signal processing due to the VisionClear package of picture improvement technologies. In addition, Bang & Olufsen has included double frame rate technology, also known as 120 Hz, with motion compensation and progressive scanning backlight. These technologies significantly reduce the inherent blur typical of LCD screens. With BeoVision 7-55 the picture is clear and sharp even during fast-moving scenes.

Acer has launched a new Eco-friendly monitor, the Acer S243Lbmi 24 Inch LCD Monitor.

The Acer S243Lbmi is a 24 inch LCD monitor with a resolution of 1920 x 1080, and it uses just 17.2w of power due to the use of LED technology.

The Acer S243Lbmi features a contrast ratio of 1000:1 and it has a pair of 1W speakers built in, on top of that there are two HDMI out ports and a D -Sub port.

It will go on sale in the next couple of weeks for 270 Euros about $400.

Sanyo has added a new projector to its range with the launch of the Sanyo PLC-XF1000.

The Sanyo PLC-XF1000 is a dual lamp projector, with a massive 12,000 lumen’s, which makes it the highest brightness projector in its class, and it also comes with a built in Active Maintenance Filter (AMF) to reduce maintenance costs.

It also has a contrast ratio of 4,000:1 and a native resolution of 1024 x 768, it comes with a host of connections including, VGA, component, HDCP-compliant DVI-D and S-video.

The Sanyo PLC-XF1000 Projector will be available for $24,995 and will go on sale in December.

Sony’s 360 Degree Display Prototype

Sony will be showing off a new 360 degree display prototype at this years Tokyo’s Digital Content EXP0 2009 this Thursday.

The new 360 degree display prototype will let you view any picture or object in 3D, and you will be able to see it in 360 degrees.

The 360 degree display prototype features a 24 bit color image which measures 96 x 128 pixels, and it will be able to be viewed in 360 degrees without the need for 3D glasses.

Sony intends to use the technology for digital signs, or as a 3D photo frame, it will be interesting to see how Sony develops the technology further.

New Mitsubishi Full HD Projector LVP-HC3800

Mitsubishi have just launched a new Full HD projector for the Japanese market today. The LVP-HC3800 Full HD Projector has a contrast ratio of 3000:1 and 1200 ANSI lumens and a DDP3021 full 10-bit panel driver. Which helps when using the projector in rooms where small amounts of daylight are around.

The LVP-HC3800 features the latest in DLP display technology and can display full HD resolution at 1920 x 1080. It also has a low noise emission of around 25 dB. It also been fitted with and extra long life 230W bulb which should provide 5000 hrs of viewing depending on the operating mode.

The Mitsubishi Full HD Projector LVP-HC3800 is available for 200000 Yen ($2238) and when it is released in the US it is expected to be around $1395

Samsung LCD 55inch 3D Screen

At the IMID 2009 in Seoul Samsung are showcasing their new monster sized display a 55inch LCD 3D Screen. This huge 3D screen has a 1080p resolution and a 240Hz refresh rate which helps eliminate ghosting is fast scenes. Compared to the usually used 120Hz for 3D content viewing.

The 3D screen uses a set of “shutter” glasses, which rapidly alternate between blocking out the left and right eye, and it features a 240Hz refresh rate.

Unfortunately there’s no information on pricing or availability at the moment, but I suspect this is going to be one expensive LCD TV.

Mitsubishi’s 155 Inch OLED TV

Mistsubishi has shown of a gigantic OLED TV at Ceatec 2009, which measure a massive 155 inches, the TV is made up of small sized OLED parts which measure about 10cm by 10cm.

The screen is said to be three times brighter than LCD TVs, it looks massive from the photo compared to the models standing next to it.

Another advantage of using small sized OLED parts to make the TV is that there is no limit to how big the display can be made, and the size of the displays is only limited by the resolution of images and video that will be shown on it.

I am lucky enough to not have to wear a neck tie to work any more, but if I did, then it would definitely be the After Office Tie from Sinapsis.

The Sinapsis After Office Tie features a built in bottle opener, and it was shortlisted in a recent Design Boom competition.

after office tie’ designed by Argentinian sinapsis studio, is one of the 100 shortlisted entries from our recent designboom competition ‘it’s aperitivo time’ in collaboration with peroni nastro azzurro. a bottle opener attached to the edge of the tie allows users to open bottles easily for any occasions.

This is a great idea, although it is just a design at the moment, I can see some manufacturer picking this idea up, I would buy one and I don’t even wear neck ties anymore.

LG 15 Inch OLED HDTV

We have already seen Sony’s OLED TV, now LG is showing an OLED TV off which will be released later in the year.

Although LG haven’t released many details or specifications about this new OLED HDTV, they have released some photos, I have to admit it looks pretty cool from the photos.

The new LG 15 inch OLED HDTV will go on sale in Korea in November, and will be available in the US and Europe sometime next year.

Unfortunately there is no word on pricing, although it will probably cost a similar amount to the Sony version which retails for $2,500.

3M has launched a new mini projector, the 3M MPro120 which uses 3M’s new MM200 projection engine which uses an advanced liquid crystal on silicon (LCOS) electronic imager and boasts enhanced image quality.

The 3M MPro120 Projector has a battery life of two to four hours, depending on the brightness setting, and in full brightness mode it achieves a brightness of 12 lumens.

It comes with an integrated stand, stereo speakers, and a tripod, and is designed to be used with laptops and netbooks.

The 3M MPro120 Projector will go on sale in September for $349.

Samsung has launched a new compact LED projector, the Samsung Sp-P410M.

The Samsung SP-P410M has a 170 ANSI Lumen’s brightness rating, and can support resolution up to 1290 x 1024 in SXGA or 800 x 600 in SVGA, it also features a 1000:1 contrast ratio.

On top of that the Samsung SP-P410M has a built in SUB port with support for a variety of file formats including WMA, MP3, AVI, MPG, DivX and lots more.

The Samsung SP-P410M will go on sale in Germany and Korea initially there is no word on pricing or when we are likely to see it in the US and the rest of Europe.

Mimo has updated its mini USB monitor with a new model, the Mimo 710-S ‘Mobile Slider’ version.

The new Mimo 710-S USB monitor features a new clamshell design, which makes it more portable and easier to carry around, and it is now foldable into the stand which means it is protected when you are carrying it about.

It comes with a double headed USB cable, and the monitor is capable of rotating 90 degrees, it has a 500:1 contrast ratio and an 800 x 480 resolution, and features a 7 inch LCD.

The Mimo 710-S USB Monitor will go on sale for $149.99, and it is due to go on sale at the end of the month.

Acer’s new Green LCD Monitors

Acer has launched two now monitors which are designed to use less power than standard LCD monitors, both of these new green LCDs use 36% less power than previous Acer models.

There is a 19 inch version, the V193WBbmd and the V223WBbmd which is a 22 inch version. both of these new green LCD monitors feature a 10,000:1 contrast ratio, a 5ms response time and a 200cd/M2 brightness rating.

The 19 inch version comes with a 1,440 x 900 resolution and will retail for $185 whilst the 22 inch model features a 1,680 x 1050 resolution and will retail for $236.

The Samsung VC240 LCD Monitor is a 24 inch monitor, with a built in 5 megapixel webcam which can be used for HD video conferencing.

It will work with the majority of VoIP software and SIP control units, the video will be compressed in H.264, and it also has a built in noise cancelling microphone.

The Samsung VC240 LCD Monitor will go on sale later in the year for a massive $1,999.

According to Casio, their latest projector, the Casio XJ-S43W Super Slim Projector, is the World’s slimmest, measuring in at just 1.69 inches thick and wieghing in at just 4lbs.

The Casio XJ-S43W Super Slim Projector features a 1280 x 800 (WXVGA) native resolution, has an 1800:1 contrast ratio, a wide angle 2 x power zoom lens and a brightness of 2500 ANSI.

The Casio XJ-S43W Super Slim Projector will retail for $999 and will go on sale shortly.

BenQ has launched a tiny projector measuring just 136 x 54 x 120mm and weighing in at just 640g, which makes it almost as small as some of the handheld models we have seen, the BenQ GP1 3LED Projector.

The BenQ GP1 3LED is powered by BenQ’s latest 3LED technology, and it can project images up to 80 inches in size, it has a native resolution of 858 x 600 and a 2000:1 contrast ratio.

The BenQ GP1 3LED will be available in Japan shortly for around $599.

NEC has launched their new 43 inch curved LCD monitor the NEC CRV43, and from the looks of the photos this would be great for gaming.

The NEC CRV43 features a resolution of 2880 x 900, a 10,000:1 contrast ratio, USB 2.0 connectivity, a DVI-D and HDMI 1.3 connections, and it provides a 32:10 aspect ratio.

LG announces the World’s thinnest LCD TV

LG has released details of a new ultra thin TV, which they are calling the World’s thinnest LCD TV.

This new LCD TV is just 6mm thick, and it will come in a choice of either 42 of 47 inches, it features an 8ms response time and LG’s TruMotion 120Hz video smoothing technology.

Unfortunately there are no details on when we will see these ultra thin LCD TV’s in the shops, and no word on pricing, but I suspect they are going to be pretty expensive.

Could this be the World’s thinnest plasma TV, measuring just 1mm thick, I would say it comes pretty close.

This new plasma TV by Japan’s Shinoda Plasma is two metres tall by 3 metres wide, and just 1mm thick, whilst being extremely thin, it isn’t light weighing in at around 200 pounds.

This ultra thin plasma is made from six individual sheets, and it is likely to go on sale later in the year for around $51,000.

Sony has added a new LCD TV to its Bravia range, with the launch of of the Sony Bravia Z5500.

The Sony Bravia Z5500 features 200hz Motionflow, which ups the frame rate to 200fps, and this together with Sony’s Image Blur Reduction technology provides sharp fast moving images with smooth motion.

This new Bravia has a built in Ethernet socket, which allows you to stream media direct to the TV via a DLNA media server of PC, you can then access content direct on your TV screen.

The Sony Bravia Z5500 is also more Eco friendly than other HDTV’s, as it has a feature that will automatically switch the TV of after a set period of time if it doesn’t receive and command or an input signal.

The Sony Bravia Z5500 with come in three sizes, 50, 46 and 50 inch, all will have full HD with a 1920 x 1080 resolution, prices will start at around £1800, about $2,670.

If you are looking for something a little different to carry your MacBook around in, then check out this cool MacBook case which is made from cardboard by UK design company Farm Designs.

This funky case is made from a combination of corrugated cardboard, and it has a leather strap, it is available for 13, 15 and 17 inch MacBook’s and Macbook Pro’s.

As you can see from the photos it even has the Apple logo, if you want one they are available to order for £180 each about $265 from Farm Designs.

Bang & Olufsen has released details of their latest plasma TV, the Bang & Olufsen 4-103 BeoVision.

The Bang & Olufsen 4-103 BeoVision is a massive 103 inches, with a resolution of 1920 x 1080, it features Bang & Olufsen’s VisionClear technology which automatically adjusts the colours and brightness, and the TV automatically re-calibrates itself every 120 hours.

It certainly looks impressive from the photo, mind you it should do at the cost of $135,000, check out Bang & Olufsen’s promo video of this amazing TV.

Here is an interesting design concept, which would definitely rival the new iPod Shuffle, the iStick.

The iStick features a touchscreen interface on every side of the device, it also features a silver cube at the end which is used as a scroll wheel, to navigate through your favourite tunes.

It certainly looks like a great design, but I expect it will be a while yet before we see Apple producing an iPod like this.

Check out this flexible interactive display, called Impress, slightly different than the current touchscreen displays like the Microsoft Surface, as it features a flexible interactive display.

The flexible display is made up of foam and force sensors, which means it actually reacts to your movements on the screen, and the screen moves as you touch it.

From the video it looks great, it certainly looks a lot more interactive, and I love the way it gives the user feedback as the screen moves with you, it is only in the prototype stage at the moment, but I reckon this could be one to watch for the future.

It looks like another manufacturer has decided to release a tiny USB display, this time it’s Samsung with the SyncMaster U70.

The SyncMaster U70 features a 7 inch LCD screen with a resolution of 800 x 480, and connects to your PC via USB, an ideal accessory for your laptop if you need an extra display or a useful addition to your PC for things like email and twitter.

It certainly looks like the best one we have seen so far of these mini USB monitors and it has more of a digital photo fram look than that of a monitor, with a photo frame style stand.

I can see myself getting one of these, I am currently using 3 Samsung SyncMaster monitors and this would be an ideal addition to my setup, as I have no desk space left for a large monitor but one of these would be handy.

There is no word on pricing or availability as yet.

Mino has launched some new mini 7 inch LCD display, the Mimo 740 and Mimo 710.

The Mimo 740 features a 7 inch screen with a resolution of 800 x 480, has a built in webcam and is a touchscreen, it can be used in portrait or landscape mode.

The 710 features a 7 inch screen with a resolution of 800 x 480, it can also be used in portrait or landscape mode, both of these tiny monitors connect via USB.

The Mini 710 will retail for $129.99 whilst the $740 will retail for $199.

Philips has released details of a new range of LCD TVs which will feature a massive 21:9 aspect ration, giving you a cinema viewing experience in your home.

These new LCD TVs will be able to deliver the exact same picture you would see in the cinema, on the screen without any loos of picture or without viewing it in letterbox format as we currently do on LCD TVs with the 16:9 aspect ratio.

There is no details on pricing or on individual models, more details should be available next month.

WoWwee has unveiled a new range of tiny handheld video projectors, designed to be used with your iPhone or iPod , the WoWwee Cinemin Projectors.

There will be a couple of models available, the WoWwee Cinemin Swivel, which has a 90 degree adjustable hinge, so you can project your movies on the ceiling, this will retail for $299.

Another model is the WoWwee Cinemin stick, which is designed to be used as a handheld projector, letting your project your favourite video on to any surface, the WoWwee Cinemin Stick will retail for $349.

And finally the WoWwee Cinemin Station, which allows you to dock your iPhone and it can be used as a tabletop projector, it has built in speakers and this will retail for $349.

As well as being able to connect to your iPod or iPhone, the WoWwee Cinemin projectors will also be able to connect to the majority of notebooks and netbooks, making them ideal for presentations.

The WoWwee Cinemin Projectors are expected to go on sale in spring.

Samsung has announced a new range of super slim LCD TVs, which it intends to show of at CES 09.

These new LCD TVs measure just 6.5mm thick, and will range in sizes from 40 inches up to 55 inches.

These new slim LCD TVs will feature Samsung’s MotionÂ Plus technology, and will feature backlighting, there is no word on pricing or availability as yet, I guess we will have to wait until CES 09 for full details and specifications.

Samsung has launched a bunch of new touchscreen LCDs, designed for businesses.

These new touchscreen LCDs will come 5 different sizes, the smallest starting at 32 inches and the largest a massive 82 inches.

These new LCDs are designed to be used as information displays in businesses, there is no word on pricing or availability as yet.

I wonder what the 82 inch would look like on my desk? I bet it would be great for gaming.

Fancy adding another monitor to your Notebook, the check out this USB powered Mini Monitor.

This USB powered monitor measures 77mm x 127mm x 17mm and plugs into a standard USB port, it has a resolution of 800 x 480 and comes with a built in kickstand.

If you want one they aren’t cheap at $192 a pop, but that is probably due to the fact that it is powered via USB, they are available to buy online from GeekStuff4U.

Nikon has launched a gadget that some might think was inspired by science fiction and the movies, the Nikon Port UP.

The Nikon Media Port Up is a multimedia headset with a built in display, headphones, Wi-Fi, and built in memory of either 4GB or 8GB, motion sensors and a built in rechargeable battery.

The device is operated by moving your head up of down and left and right and then the built in motion sensors translate this to enable you to control the menu.

According to Nikon, viewing movies and content on the built in display is the same as watching it on a 50 inch screen from a distance of 3 metres.

The Nikon Media Port UP will also be able to surf the web and use programs like Window Media Player.

The Nikon Port UP is available now in Japan with the base model (4GB) retailing for around $580, there is no word on when it will arrive in the US and Europe.

The Smartparts SP3200WF digital photo frame has a 32 inch display, capable of displaying your photos at a resolution of 1366 x 768.

It’s built in Wi-Fi lets you stream your favourite photos from your PC, as well as display powerpoint presentations and even RSS Feeds.

This gigantic Wi-Fi photo frame comes with a remote, and also supports SD/MMC/MS/xD and Compact Flash cards.

There is no word on pricing as yet, but they do have a similar version for sale without the Wi-Fi which retails for $750.

Kodak has launched a new digital photo frame, the first to feature an OLED display.

This new OLED Photo frame features a 7.6 inch diagonal OLED screen, with a 180 degree viewing angle.

It has built in WiFi so you can stream your photos direct from your PC, it will also accept a host of memory cards and has a built in USB port so you can upload your photos.

The Kodak Wireless OLED Photo Frame comes with 2GB of built in storage, which is capable of storing up to 10,000 photos, and it can also play videos and music wirelessly from your PC.

The 7.6 inch widescreen OLED display is capable of displaying your favourite photos at a resolution of 800 x 400, and it features a contrast ratio of 30,000:1.

It wont be cheap though, the KODAK OLED Wireless Photo Frame will go on sale in November for $999.

As this is the first digital photo frame to feature an OLED display it is bound to be expensive, I am sure we can expect the price to come down over the next 12 months.

3M launches the MPro110 Handheld Projector

A number of companies have released details of tiny handheld projectors over the last few months, none have managed to get one released as yet, that is until now, 3M has beaten other manufacturers to it with the launch of the 3M MPro110 Handheld Projector.

The 3M MPro110 will be able to display a VGA image at a resolution of 640 x 480 up to 50 inches, it has built in VGA and composite video inputs, and the best part has to be the price, the 3M MPro110 will go on sale for $359, and should be available to buy in about two weeks.

So we can expect to see a lot more of these mini handheld projectors over the next twelve months and the price is bound to drop.

Check out this cool gadget, the double sided touch screen display from Japanese company Teraokaaseiko.

The double sided touch screen display features transparent inorganic EL panel technology, and it can be used on both sides at the same time.

The amount of applications this technology could be used in are huge, from mapping software to gaming.

This interesting double sided touch screen display also feature similar technology to that of the Apple iPhone and it even has the same pinching function built in to the touch navigation.

There is no word on when this technology will be released in consumer devices, but I am sure it won’t be long before we see a new version of Battleships using this interface.

Sony has added a new TV to its Bravia line up, the latest edition isn’t a 60 Inch LCD, its a 4 inch waterproof portable TV designed for your bathroom.

The Sony Bravia XDV-W600 Portable TV features a 4 inch display, and is fully waterproof, it can be submerged in water up to 3 feet for 30 minutes.

It has a built in battery which will give you 23 hours of viewing time, mind you I wouldn’t recommend you stay in the bath that long, there is also 2G of internal memory, so you can record your favourite TV shows direct to the XDV-W600 and a built in FM Tuner.

Unfortunately the Sony Bravia XDV-W600 is a oneseg unit, which means it will only work in Japan, lets hope they release a similar version in the US and Europe.

Sony has launched the World’s thinnest LCD TV, the KDL-40ZX1.

The KDL-40ZX1 measures just 9.9mm thick, and has LED Backlighting, a contrast ratio of 3,000: 1 , 120hz MotionFlow for improved image quality in fast-moving sequences and Bravia Engine 2, it also has a viewing angle of 178 degrees.

This thin LCD comes with one HDMI input on the screen, and it also has a wireless base station which transmits to the TV. The wireless base station has 3 HDMi’s, 2 component, S-Video and a VGA input, there is even USB, LAN and also a standard phone port.

There is one downside to the base station it will on transmit HD up to 1080i, this 40 Inch LCD TV weighs in at 12.2 KG and is due to go one sale in Japan in November for around $4,500.

Panasonic has launched a new 103 inch PDP (Plasma) TV, the Panasonic TH-103PZ800.

The TH-103PZ800 features a contrast ratio of 10,000:1, 4 HMDI ports and is of course Full HD.

It also features support for MPEG-4-AVC and H.264 video, it measures a massive 214 x 87 x 174 cm and weighs 343kg.

The Panasonic TH-103PZ800 will go on sale for around 35,000 Euros, about $51,500.

LG has launched a new LCD monitor, which they are claiming is the worlds most energy efficient.

The LG Flatron W2252TE is a 22 inch LCD with a resolution of 1680 x 1050 and a contrast ratio of 10,000 to 1.

This new energy efficient LCD uses 45% less power than existing LCD’s, which is a great saving.

The LG Flatron W2252TE will go on sale in the UK in August, there is no word on pricing as yet.

Samsung has unveiled a new 82 inch LCD TV.

This new TV features a resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 and a 120HZ refresh rate and it displays Ultra Definition pictures ate 120 frames per second.

It also features a red, green and blue backlight to raise the true colour saturation to 150 percent, based on the NISC standard of 100 percent.

â€œThis 82-inch LCD is large enough to cover all viewing angles with ultra-definition resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate that will allow viewers to watch motion pictures as if they are really in them,â€ said Sang Soo Kim, executive vice president of the LCD Technology Center at Samsung Electronics. â€œIt is the optimal display for future TVs.â€

There is no word on pricing or availability as yet, but you can bet it won’t be cheap.

LG has developed a tiny new circular LCD display designed to be used in mobile phone watches.

This tiny LCD display is just 1.4″ with a diameter of 35.5mm. The display features 262,000 colours and has a 160 degree viewing angle.

Although this is in the early stages of development at the moment, I am sure we can expect to see this in mobile phone watches in the future.

From the looks of the display we will be able to have standard sized watches with a built in mobile phone using this display, unlike the bulky mobile phone watches available today.

Sharp has revealed some new LCD TV’s, the Sharp Aquos X Series, which is reported to be the worlds thinnest LCD TV.

These new LCDs measure just 1.35 inches wide, and come in 3 sizes of 376, 42 and 46 inches, and have a dynamic contract ratio of 15,000:1 and full 1080P.

New word on pricing or when they will go on sale, but they should go into production around April.
