Slrman,

Regarding whether this is new or not, the vendor's site says that the Blur package includes a tripod adapter for the iPhone, a mini tripod and a software application. The tripod adapter is new. Nothing like this design exists on the market. Joby has a suction cup and adhesive but neither of Joby's adapters form as secure a connection as the Blur product. I think you're referring to the mini tripod when you say "these have been available for a long time". That's true but the adapter is the novel and new product here.

Regards, Tom

This is far from a new device. These have been available for cameras for a long time. In fact, I have three of these in various sizes. Some digital cameras even come with one in the package.
