If you were looking forward to playing Battlefield 3 on the Nintendo Wii U, you may not have the chance. An anonymous source from Wii U Daily says that both EA and DICE were working on a Wii U version of Battlefield 3. The problem is that their are tensions. After a “feud” with Nintendo over the integration of Origin on the Wii U, the project was shelved.
That certainly stinks if you wanted to play Battlefield 3 on the Wii U, assuming this is true, but here’s some good news. It looks like the team working on Battlefield 3 was merged with the team working on Battlefield 4 and are working on a straight port of the game onto the Wii U.
The game is expected to feature support for the Wii U’s touchscreen controls, which is cool. We will have to wait and see if there is any truth to this one.
