Battle Dungeon creators gave up on their game in just one week, due to piracy

Apps are dirt cheap, but that doesn’t mean that they don’t have to fdeal with piracy still. Free is better than cheap and pirates want it free. It’s too bad that piracy can ruin good games.

The creators of Battle Dungeon had to shut down their servers yesterday, as they got overwhelmed by demand from pirated copies of their iPhone and iPad game that weren’t in the team’s load calculations:

Unfortunately we have taken Battle Dungeon down for the forseeable future. This was due to high levels of server load created by large numbers of pirated copies of the game. The high load revealed technical issues which we don’t feel we can fix to the level that our paying customers deserve.

This is very sad for the company and for anyone who wanted to enjoy the game.
