Applebee’s wants you to be able to order your food as easily as possible, so the restaurant chain has announced that they will install nearly 100,000 tablets at select restaurants across the U.S. at over 1,800 locations in 2014. These tablets will help customers with all of their ordering needs.
The new Presto tablets will be supplied by Applebee’s partner in this endeavor, E la Carte and with them you can flip through the menu to order additional items and even pay your bill, which should speed things up quite a bit. However, actually ordering food will still require some human interaction as physical menus will still be given out, and your order will be given to your waiter. Which, to be honest, kind of makes you ask why they would bother.
As well as adding items to your meal and paying your bill, the tablets will also act as a jukebox and will also offer paid games to play while you are waiting. Eating good in your neighborhood just got more high tech. Now you can at least play games while your company chats away in the other seat. What do you think? Good idea?
