Apple’s ads are about to get funnier. Apparently, the company has signed a deal with Saturday Night Live for a commercial that will feature cast members from the live TV show.
This is part of Apple’s push into late night TV advertising, where it has been focusing its efforts and obviously Apple is serious about this since SNL is such a huge part of late night.
Saturday Night Live has signed a similar deal with Verizon as well. Saturday Night Live’s Weekend Update anchor Colin Jost is going to write a commercial for Verizon which will star SNL cast member Kenan Thompson. They will do something similar for Apple, but we have no details about the ad that Apple wants to make. I
We don’t know who has written this commercial and which cast members are going to star in it. Only that it will “look different than its Verizon efforts,”. Apple hasn’t confirmed anything about this news just yet, but the ad will air on April 15th so we will find out soon enough and see if it is funny and engaging for viewers. If it works maybe Apple will do more of these late night ads in the future.
