I’m guessing that number of “sold” apps also includes the free apps as well… I know I have tons of apps on my iPhone as well as my iPod touch.

Apple have sold over 50 million devices which use the app store, which includes the iPhone and iPod Touch.

That works out at about 40 apps per user which isn’t a lot, that works out at less than 1 app a week per user since the app store launched.

Approx 15 Million iPhones have been sold to date. That means on average each owner has purchased 133 apps. That seams a bit overblown to me.
