Rovio’s Angry Birds franchise made its debut as a mobile game, but since then it has done what birds do and migrated to other platforms, like consoles and the PC. It is a powerhouse franchise that shows no signs of stopping anytime soon. You will be happy to know that it will be coming to next-gen consoles like the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 as well.
The first installment will be Angry Birds Star Wars in November, so it will arrive right around both consoles releases. That will give you something extra to play on your new console. Those of us with current-gen consoles like the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PS Vita, Nintendo Wii, Wii U, and 3DS, can get the game starting today.
The new improved version for next-gen consoles will take advantage of the console’s new features. The PlayStation 4 version will use the DualShock 4’s touchpad, and will support the Move in single player and local multiplayer modes. While the Xbox One version will feature exclusive timed challenges and will be compatible with the new Kinect sensor. It will be interesting to see what other things they take advantage of with the new consoles. May the force be with you.
