Acer Iconia Tab A510/A511 not shipping due to faulty hardware

Well, there goes one affordable alternative for all of you who have been looking for a NVIDIA Tegra-3 quad-core tablet. You had better keep shopping. Acer’s Iconia Tab A510 and the A511 are no longer shipping due to a faulty component that causes freezing in the devices. Even Amazon now lists them as “under review” and is not shipping them.
Sad news if you were intending to buy one of these. Acer announced the news on their German Facebook page, though they didn’t specify which component was to blame or what they might be doing to cure it.
You could probably still find these tablets from other third-part retailers, but it’s best to just move along and choose another tablet. There’s no telling when Acer will resolve the issue.
