The popularity of the Pokemon franchise is unreal. When Pokemon GO was released and gave players the ability to catch Pokemon in “real life”, it was an amazing way for these fans to live out their dreams.
The public went crazy for it. Players were even playing the game while driving, they were so crazy about it. That led to some tragedy. And now The Pokemon Company might have a way to prevent this.
In an interview with Nikkei, The Pokemon Company’s CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara revealed that they are toying with the idea of creating a new accessory that would make playing the game less “dangerous” for players. However it seems that for now it is just thinking about it, we don’t know if or when such an accessory would be released. We will have to wait and see.
Ishihara says, “To avoid the danger, we also released “Pokemon Go Plus,” the smartphone-linked wearable device, so that “Pokemon Go” players do not have to always be looking down at their smartphone screens. Together with Nintendo, we are thinking of developing a new device that can be played more safely.”
We are intrigued and can’t wait to see what it is, if it ever comes to pass.
