Ubisoft plans on releasing a new Assassin’s Creed game every year, but do you think that this will hurt the franchise? Well, fans can’t get enough, so it is probably safe. And it looks like Ubisoft’s strategy might be paying off according to the some recent figures the company released.
Assassin’s Creed could be Ubisoft’s best selling franchise to date. Ubisoft recently released the numbers on their website and revealed that the company has sold about 73 million copies of the game to date, indeed making it their best selling franchise in the world. So gamers should be just fine about regular releases of the games.
Ubisoft launched Assassin’s Creed back in 2007 on the Sony PS3, the Xbox 360, and the PC. Multiple versions of the game were made for mobile as well. In 2014 it looks like we have several more games coming this year. Assassin’s Creed: Unity is designed for the latest consoles, then the one codenamed Comet, is said to be designed for previous-gen consoles. We will have a lot more of this franchise before they are through.
