50 ARM Based Tablets Coming This Year?

It looks like things are starting to get interesting for Tablet PCs, with the launch of the Apple iPad imminent, and also the HP Tablet due some time soon, we can expect to see quite a few more tablets released in 2010.

According to ARM’s worldwide mobile computing ODM manager, Roy Chen, we can expect to see around 50 ARM based tablets released before the end of the year.

“The first tablet devices will launch in the second quarter by [mobile network] carriers. You’ll see a lot more in the third quarter,” said Chen.

ARM must have a good idea of what tablets will be released, so the figure of 50 tablets is probably pretty accurate. It does seem like a lot though, I guess the launch of the iPad has got a lot of companies interested in launching a Tablet.
