If you have been annoyed by the recent shipping delays for the 27-inch iMac, you can blame production problems at LG Display, according to industry sources reached by DigiTimes. They claim that LG has been encountering trouble with lamination, limiting the number of screens it can send out for assembly. Apparently, only about 100,000 27-inch systems can be shipped each month.
Meanwhile, the production of 21.5-inch iMacs is reportedly up to between 300,000 and 400,000 units per month. Don’t worry though, 27-inch panel supply should improve by February.
Well, that explains the delays. Hopefully it really will be solved by February and all will be well.
