Apple Releases iOS 4.2 Beta And iTunes 10.1 To Developers

Apple has released the latest beta version of their iOS to developers, iOS 4.2 as well as the latest version of iTunes, iTunes 10.1. The new iOS 4.2 will bring multitasking and a range of other features to the Apple iPad.

iOS 4.2 is due for public release in November, and will be available for the iPad, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and the iPod Touch 2G, 3G, 4G, this is the second beta of iOS 4.2 that has been released.

AOL Buys TechCrunch For A Reported $25 Million

We had been hearing rumors recently that AOL, who own Engadget and Webblogs Inc were about to purchase Michael Arrington’s TechCrunch, and it looks like the rumors were true as AOL has just announced that they have purchased TechCrunch.

Along with TechCrunch, AOL has purchased all other sites in the TechCrunch network which include MobileCrunch and Crunch Gear, and although no details on the purchase price have been announced, Business Insider is reporting that it was sold for $25 Million.

iControlPad Drops Apple Dock Connector Requires Bluetooth iOS Expert

iControlPad the gaming accessory for smartphones that has been in production since August has decide to change the connection design for its iPhone model.

The team behind it has decided to drop the Apple Dock connector within the device and instead use Bluetooth to connect to iPhones. The move comes over legal fears that Apple may require a license agreement if the dock connector is used.

Japanese company Onkyo has launched three new Windows 7 based tablet computers, there are two 10.1 inch models the Onkyo TW117A4 and TW217A5 as well as an 11.6 inch model the TW317A5.

Both the TW117A4 and TW3175A feature an Intel Atom N450 processor, plus Intel GMA 3150 graphics, whilst the TW217A5 features an Intel Atom Z530 processor and Intel GMA 500 graphics.
