Cool Mods – The DIY Iron Man Repulsor Light

Check out this cool DIY Iron Man repulsor light made by Carlos from Carlitos Contraptions.

diy iron man repulsor

Carlos used some ultra bright LEDs, an old latop battery and a few other salvaged parts to make this amazing mod.

diy iron man repulsor

To build a very powerful LED flashlight mounted on my hand palm that would turn on and produce brighter light as I move my hand back (and the angle between my hand and my arm decreases and gets roughly to 90°). Also, the flashlight should be comfortable, allow my hand to move freely, be very sturdy, and of course look as much as possible like the repulsor Tony Starks wears.

Check out the video of it in action.

This is a very cool mod and amazing how the LEDs get brighter when you move your hand, if you want to make your own head on over to Carlos’s website for full instructions.

Geeky Toys – The Voice Activated R2 D2

Check out this cool voice activated R2 D2.

voice activated R2-D2

Previously only Luke Skywalker could boast about having his own droid but now you can too. This little R2D2 unit may not be able to help you blow up spaceships, shut off trash compactors or project images of Princess Leia but he does have a few other tricks.

The new Voice Activated R2D2 obeys more than 40 voice commands so you can tell him to move forwards, back, dance, behave and much more. His built in sensors enable him to follow you around. Bits of him light up, his head spins, he plays the famous Star Wars Cantina song and he’ll even carry your beer can around for you.

R2D2 can also be put into sentry mode and will beep if the room he is guarding is invaded, ideal if you live close to those droid-stealing Jawas.

The voice activated R2-D2 is available to buy online for £129.99 about $260 from Lazybone.
